MediaZest PLC
Foreword
One of the most common questions we get asked by clients when designing new projects is ‘how do I future-proof my solution?’
In reality this is never 100% possible. But at MediaZest we work hard to ensure risks are minimised and solutions are flexible, to
allow for future technological evolution. We achieve this by designing well thought out systems and infrastructures, drawing on over
100 years of audio-visual engineering experience across our in-house design team. This is supplemented by a vast amount of work
over the course of each year engaging with key technology manufacturers and industry figures to understand the latest in-store
digital solutions, innovations and cutting edge techniques coming through.
A big part of this, is our visit to the ISE exhibition in Amsterdam each year. This flagship industry event brings together the European
AV integrator market with key manufacturers. We get a preview of what will come to market over the next 12-24 months, which
gives us valuable insight into how we can help our clients plan for the future.
Last year we decided it would be valuable to share our research with our clients. It’s a way of saying thank you for your custom and
help you plan your in-store digital strategy. Please feel free to share this paper with your colleagues or to contact us if there’s
anything further you’d like to know - we’re covering a lot of ground so please bear in mind this is only our snapshot of what
impressed us most.
We hope you find it useful.
3. Key Trends

to enhance the shopping experience by enabling customers to run side-by-side product comparisons.
Collaboration - The collaboration technology market, which has been long dominated by software companies, sees a number of
new hybrid solutions entering the space using physical touch and object recognition to boost its offering.
5. LG OLED Screens
Organic LEDs emit their own light, so are thinner and more efficient than LCD displays, providing superior image quality - better
contrast, higher brightness, fuller viewing angle, a wider color range with much faster refresh rates.
6. Samsung QLED Screens
QLED technology is Samsung’s rival to LG’s OLED, which works through placing a layer of film of quantum dots in front of a regular LED
backlit panel. This enables much higher brightness then OLED and the ability to preserve vivid colour in peak brightness.
7. LG Ultra Stretch Screens - 86” and 88”
LG ultra stretch screen is a unique display for brand advertising capable of displaying the human shape, or used in landscape mode
can be fitted above retail shelving and checkouts. Screens can be touch-enabled and daisy chained to create a ticker-tape format.
