2. Conventions
Action films have tremendous impact,
continuous high energy, lots of physical
stunts and activity, extended chase
scenes, races, rescues, battle, martial
arts, mountains and mountaineering,
destructive disasters (floods, explosions,
natural disasters, fires e.t.c), fights,
escapes, non-stop motion, rhythm and
pacing and adventurous heroes.
3. Sub-genres
Action films have a Varity of forms of genre
including;
• sci-fi or space
• thrillers
• crime drama
• War
• Horror
• westerns
4. Characters
Action films are great box office hits but
lack critical appeal because of their two-
dimensional heroes of villains.
The main action normally centres on a
male action hero or protagonist –
portrayed by prominent actors.
5. Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone is a good
character to have in action films
because the main protagonist
needs to be able to deal with the
convention of a thriller such as;
fighting and experiences
aggressive situations.
He is well-known because he
starred in ‘Rocky’ and ‘Rambo’.
