Conditionals
Conditional sentences are used when we want to
express something that can o cannot happen,
every conditional is different because you express
different thing with them.
If you study, you will past the test.
2. Zero conditional
we use the zero conditional when something is completely
real, it’s a fact or it’s completely likely to happen.
If the water reach 100ºC, it boils
People die if they don’t eat
3. First Conditional
We use the first conditional when something is possible to
happen in the present or in the future. In the first conditional
we use the modal verbs: will, may, might, should and must.
If + Present simple + Modal verb + Present simple.
If i save enough money, I will buy a mansion
If you study hard, you must pass the test
4. Second Conditional
We use the second conditional when something is unlikely
to happen in the present or in the future. In the second
conditional we use the modal verbs: would, might, could.
If + Past simple + modal verb + present simple.
If I had a car, I would arrive earlier to my job.
If you followed what the doctor says, you could be
better.
5. Third conditional
We use third conditional to describe the past, in third
conditional the things already happened and the condition
It’s impossible to happen.
If + Past perfect + would have + past participle.
If I had studied harder at school, I would have gone to the
university.
If she had more time, she would have finished the test
