  1. 1. Geomembrane - Lined Applications Products & Services General Locations LEAK DETECTION PROCESS • Landfills • Lakes • Leach Pads • Liquid Impoundments • Reservoirs • Ponds • Storage Tanks • Solid Waste Facilities • Nuclear Power Plants • Recycling Plants • Surface Mines • Mills • Farms • Oil Fields • Golf Courses Electrical leak detection methods implement a physical, real-world circuitry consisting of magnetic fields and current density. The geomembrane, or liner, acts as an electrical insulator and emulates a current barrier. Two temporary electrodes are required to energize the commercial application: a source electrode and a return electrode. When the application is energized and saturated, localized ripple-effects of high current density occurs only at the leaks. Measurements are collected and scans are made with leak detection probes and equipment to pinpoint the exact location of the leaks. PELM SYSTEM The Permanent Electrical Leak Monitoring (PELM) System can monitor the application for leaks on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Permanent electrodes, or sensors, are installed throughout single- or double-lined geomembrane systems. Disconnect Junction (DJ) boxes and Control Panels allow convenient access for Clients to collect data through a resistivity meter. After collection, data is analyzed on a custom-made leak detection software for locating suspect anomalies. Isolation Moisture Electrical isolation is required to increase leak detection sensitivity. Material above the geomembrane must be saturated with water. • Bare Geomembrane Survey • PELM System Installation • Tow Survey • Soil Survey • Consultation • PELM Survey • Wading Survey • Plummet Survey • Side - Slope Survey • Preventative Maintenance

It is imperative to us to keep improving our current state of the art instruments to continue providing our customers with the most accurate readings on geomembranes such as, but not finite, HDPE, LLDPE, PVC, XR-5, Hypalon, and Polypropylene. The members of BLD have been performing leak detection for a combined total of approximately 14 years. Each BLD technician has completed the following: Beyond Leak Detection (BLD) specializes in electrical leak detection on geomembrane liners. We provide surveys in locating leaks in commercial applications and installation services for leak monitoring systems worldwide. Beyond Leak Detection
