They have been to 7 world cup finals winning 5 of the 7 (Winners 1958, 1962, 1970,
1994, 2002), Runners-Up (1950, 1998), thus making them the most successful national
team ever in recent times.

Brazilian Football Confederation

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) or Confederação Brasileira de Futebol in
Portuguese is the governing body of football in Brazil, and was founded on August 20,
1914 as Confederação Brasileira de Desportos (CBD), meaning Brazilian Sports
Confederation. The state federations, which organises the state championships, are
subordinated to CBF. The organization also administrates the Brazil national football
team and the Brazil women's national football team. The Brazilian Football
Confederation is also responsible for the youth setup in the Brazilian leagues.

Religion is one of the most important ideologies in Brazilian culture as they believe
things happen for a reason and what goes around comes around (karma). Some of the top
players believe in such a higher god that they worship there lives around it. (205words)
Football is all around Brazil players learn of the street with incredibly close control of the
ball and their technically ability is very high. Street football developed in Brazil and was
very popular in the social classes such as workers and black slave descendants and was
more popular than the “white” more institutionalised. Football quickly became a passion
for Brazilians, who often refer to their country as "o país do futebol" ("the country of
football"). Over 10,000 Brazilians play professionally all over the world. Football is
considered to have a massive influence of the politics of the Brazilian culture and former
football legends are promoted as leaders or powerful positions in the Brazilian
Government.

As you can see from the map most of the professional teams are in the south of Brazil,
and these best teams are all situated in Sao Paulo. (142 words)
Through the Brazilian soccer network players are encouraged to reach the next
level

‘We have created a network of international clubs, experienced
FIFA licensed agents, universities, and professional youth
residential academies around the globe in order to help players to
get their foot in the door of an international soccer (football)
                                 environment.

We provide talented youth players with guidance, assistance,
trials, and placements in clubs, universities, and youth academies
around the world. Through our connection, we receive requests
from clubs and academies, and we help them to match our players
                            with their programs.

If you would like to get an international soccer exposure, we can
help you to secure a trial in Europe, Brazil, or the United States.
Using our knowledge and contacts of international clubs and
agents, we can place you at competitive levels based on your
                               playing ability.’

                          Reference - Brazilian FA

Academies – CAP CLUBE ATLÉTICO PARANAENSE
CAP is one of the most successful projects in Brazil in developing and managing football
in academies. So far, CAP has implemented more than 20 academies in Brazil where the
young footballers receive all the lessons based on ‘Atletico’s’ beliefs of development is
key to great players. (52 words)

The main example of how good the boys are prepared is the call of goalkeeper João
Carlos, a boy coming from the grass roots of one of CAP’s academies, to the Brazilian
National Team U16.
Estádio do Maracanã

This stadium has to be one of the most impressive stadiums in the world, it holds over
96,000 people which is the 8th biggest in the world showing how much involvement the
government does in Brazil towards the elite professionals on July 16, 1950 the “biggest
stadium ever” hled a match – Brazil vs Uruagay which held 210,000 people. The
investment of the Estádio do Maracanã from the government must have been huge and
football in brazil grew from there. (79 words)

The first goal project

On 15th October2003, the goal Bureau introduced a project to build a training centre for
football coaches trying to get involvement even higher in Brazil, run by the Brazilian FA.

The second goal project

This development programme was launched for the Brazilian association to help train and
teach referees and official including coaching; it was funded by the Brazilian government
and supported by the Goal Foundation.

The Third Goal project

The goal project this time was simple it was to achieve a better and general enhancement
in the Brazilian game; it was to help the non professional players. (102 words)
Development and schools EBF

EBF (Escola Brasileira de Futebol) is a recognised football association to help players to turn
professional it was created after an agreement between CBF and FIFA, by the GOAL
Project and the Brazilian School of Football. Many different types of people involved in
football are helped here to get into and involved with football, these include coaches,
physios, referees and football clubs.

The main objectives of Escola Brasileira de Futebol are to modernise and technically
enable the Brazilian football, through courses and lectures.

EBF is an excellence centre of football, gathering factors such as research for the
qualification of professionals linked to the area and of professionals from various sectors
around the sport.

Migration from Brazil

Migration does affect one of the best footballing nations in the world; in there leagues
there are barely any Brazilians who play in their own country. This does affect the
interests of the people in Brazil as they have no “superstars” that they can follow week in
week out. (169 words)
