Brainstorming
There are four principles in brainstorming:
After gathering all
the ideas, you can start
deciding what is the best
solution
Brainstorming is a technique to find a conclusion or solution for a
specific problem by gathering a list of ideas contributed by group members.
This technique can be used in group or individually.
4. Combine and improve ideas: Good ideas may come from combining
two previous ideas.
3. Welcome unusual ideas: Unusual ideas usually generated from new
perspectives. This can leads to new and
effective solutions.
2. Do not criticize: Criticism will stop the flow of ideas.
1. Focus on quantity: More ideas means more chance of finding the best
solution.

Carlos: Well, yesterday I went to Robert's house to do my homework. I told my mom I
would be home before dark.
Paul: And what happened?
Carlos: Well, just as we were starting to do our homework, Derek called and invited us
to play soccer at the park. So we went and played. The time went by really quickly
and when I got home it was already dark. My mom was worried because she had
called Robert's house and I wasn't there. And she was mad because I was late and to
make it even worse, I hadn't done my homework.
Paul: Oh, wow! you could have called your mother.
Carlos: I know, and I should have done my homework, too.
Paul: No wonder she was mad. May be you can come over next week.
