Sticking to brand requirements can sometimes stifle
showcasing the people of your company, but Twitter’s
"Join the Flock" campaign was a great example of
showing company's culture in a recruitment campaign.
In 2012, Twitter ran an internal #HackWeek encouraging
their employees to shoot a recruitment video.
During the Hack Week, employees were challenged to
make the best/worst recruiting video of all time.
Hundreds of teams participated and after many bad
one-liners Twitter had a winner: 'A Mock Training
Video, deliberately budget-friendly, which urged
potential applicants to "Join The Flock"'.
3. Did it work?
The final video, which included an appearance by
CEO Dick Costello, relayed hiring information, all
while poking fun at outdated workplace training
materials.
This video, which featured Twitter's former CEO
Dick Costello, quickly went viral.
Although principally a joke, the Ad featured many
roles available in the organisation, and directed
watchers to the company job site.
