MACHINERY
CNC WIRE CUTTING MACHINE
 In this machine wire is used for cutting the given work piece to
obtain more accuracy
 The time of cutting depend upon the thickness of the work piece
 The thickness of the wire used is 0.25mm
 Coolant used is water
 It has automatic feeding mechanism
PLANO MILLING MACHINE
 This machine is used for reducing the thickness of the work piece
 It is used to provide smooth surface to the work piece
 It uses multi point cutting tool
 The cutting tool Is made up of high speed steel
 High speed steel is used in order to minimize wear and tear of
the cutting tool
 The bed plate is fitted with a magnet in order to hold the work
piece in a correct position
 The rotating disk is fitted with a face cutter which performs the
rest of the work
LATHE MACHINE
 A lathe machineisa machinetool which is used to remove metals
from a work pieceto give a desired shapeand size.
 In other words it is a machinethat isused to hold the work pieceto
perform variousmetalremoving operations.
 Operationsperformed such as turning, grooving, chamfering,
knurling, facing, forming etc with the help of tools.
 It is also called asmother of machine.
 There aremany types of lathe machinessuch as verticallathe
machine, horizontallathemachineetc.
 A lathe machineisa pieceof equipment which useselectricityor
some other form of power to perform a particular task.
CNC MACHINE
 CNC Machining is a process used in the manufacturing sector that involves the
use of computers to control machine tools.
 Tools that can be controlled in this manner include lathes, mills, routers and
grinders.
 The CNC in CNC Machining stands for Computer Numerical Control.
 On the surface, it may look like a normal PC controls the machines, but the
computer's unique software and control console are what really sets the system
apart for use in CNC machining.
 The process is more precise than manual machining, and can be repeated in
exactly the same manner over and over again.
 CNC Machining is used in the production of many complex three-dimensional
shapes.
GRINDING MACHINE
 The grinding machine consists of a bed with a fixture to guide and hold the work
piece, and a power-driven grinding wheel spinning at the required speed.
 The speed is determined by the wheel’s diameter and manufacturer’s rating.
The grinding head can travel across a fixed work piece, or the work piece can
be moved while the grind head stays in a fixed position.
 Grinding machines remove material from the work piece by abrasion, which can
generate substantial amounts of heat.
 To cool the work piece so that it does not overheat and go outside its tolerance,
grinding machines incorporate a coolant.
 The coolant used Is the mixture of oil and water.
 The most used tool material is silicon carbide, diamond tool etc.
JIG BORING MACHINE
 A metal cutting machine used for finishing holes, planes, and slots with a
highly preciselocation of centers or surfaces without the use of special
attachments for tool alignment.
 Jig boring machines are used for boring , drilling, counter-sinking, milling
and other types of finishing
 This machines are used both in small scale and large scale production.
 Jig boring machines are installed in insulated area in which a constant
temperature around 200
 This machines are operated by skilled labors.
PNEUMATIC PRESS MACHINE
 A machine press is of three types namely PNEUMATIC, HYDRAULIC,
MECHANICAL
 Their main functions are forging, stamping, punch press etc.
 A pneumatic press is a special type of press which is used for bending
sheet metal into desired shapes
 This type of machines are hazardous so safety measures should betaken.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
 Exposure to a better industrial and manufacturing unit was
motivating.
 Interaction with guides and other staff of the unit was
encouraging.
 I’ve learned that SEE & KNOW is a better motto than READ &
LEARN.
 After completing our industrial visit, we have upgraded our
knowledge at a very great level.
 It was a good learning experience In each & every department,
we got new ideas and new thinking which was very necessary for
our Personal development.
 We have visited the entire process department. They are using
new technologies that helps us to understand about the role of
advanced technology in productivity of Manufacturing goods.
 They are strictly following quality & safety aspects. It is desirable
to review various aspects & sum up the industrial visit.
 During industrial visit, we feel very much satisfied by acquiring
information of various department & knowing many new things.
 The industrial visit helps how to translate theory into practical.
CONCLUSION
 We conclude that while going through the entire industrial visit,
the cooperation is found to be very well organized, developed &
most ideal industry in every walk of its production,
administration & management aspects.
 We extend our heartiest thanks to PRETO TOOLING SYSTEMS for
making 10TH
FEB 2018 a day to cherish for some of the lucky
students who are honored with your humble gesture to get an
opportunity to visit such an esteemed organization.
 We want to thank our head of the department, and our faculty
members, Dr. Dhanraj pamar sir and Md Durvesh sir and Md
Muzammil sir for coordinating the industrial visit.
