13. The Features
• PPM: Page per Minute is a common method of
measuring the output of a printer, as it
determines the speed a printer is capable of
printing.PPM between different printers cannot
be compared on a one-to-one ratio.
Benefits: higher the PPM higher would be the
speed of printing.
• Resolution: is a measurement of a printer’s
quality and is traditionally measured in Dots Per
Inch ( DPI). It is the measure of how many dots
of ink or toner a printer can place within an inch
( or centimeter) .
Benefits: Higher the DPI, the better the detail and
clarity your printed image will have.
14. The Features
• Duplexing facility : it is printing on both sides
of a page. Auto-duplexing printers offer
automatic double-sided printing with help
from a duplexing accessory that allows the
printer to automatically output a two-sided
page.
Benefits : it saves paper by printing on both the
sides .
• ADF: Automatic Document Feeder. If you
have several pages to print, rather than
placing them onto the glass, one by one, and
printing, you can use the Automatic
Document feeder to do the work for you .
Benefits : it will speed up the printing process
15. The Features
• Memory card reader : A memory card reader
is a device used for communication with a
smart card or flash memory card. It connects
to the USB port on a computer. Upon inserting
a memory card into its slot, images are
transferred from devices.
Benefits : you can transfer data to a PC from
memory cards easily.
• USB port : it stands for Universal Serial Bus. It
is a specification of a serial bus for easy
connection of the peripherals to the PC. USB
can handle 127 devices.
Benefits: you can connect devices easily with your
PC.
16. The Features
• RJ45: Registered Jack 45.it is an electrical
connector used in printers. RJ45 connector
has two forms: the male plug and the female
jack or socket. Each has eight conductors.
RJ45 has replaced many older connector
types because of its smaller size and relative
ease of plugging and unplugging
Benefits: you can connect your printer over a
network easily.
• Light scribe Direct Disc Labeling: is an
innovative technology that uses a special
disc drive, special media, and label-making
software to burn labels directly onto CDs and
DVDs. Because the labels are laser-etched-
not printed- there’s no ink. No smudging.
And no peeling.
17. The Features
• Bluetooth : it is a short-range communications
technology intended to replace the cables
connecting portable or fixed devices while
maintaining high levels of security. The effective
range of Bluetooth devices is 32 feet ( 10 meters)
Benefits: you can pint wirelessly from your PC with
in a short range
• Wi-Fi: Wireless Fidelity. Printers with this facility
can communicate wirelessly with other devices
within 200 feet or so. You can take print out
wirelessly with a speed of 55 Mbps or so.
Benefits : you can get wireless printing facility at
higher range.
18. Basic questions to identify the customer needs
• Where will you use the printer?
• Will you print from a multiple PCs?
• What kind of document are you printing usually?

28. PC Cooler
Notebook cooler, Cooler pad or Chill mat is an accessory for laptop computers that helps
reduce their operating temperature, which is normally used when the laptop is unable to
sufficiently cool itself.
Laptop coolers are intended to protect both the laptop from overheating and the user
from suffering heat related discomfort
Active coolers
Active coolers use small fans to generate additional airflow around the body of the laptop.
This helps convect heat away from the device. Many cooler pads support the use of a
power adapter, though they typically run on power drawn through one of the laptop's USB
ports. Additionally, many cooler pads come with a built-in USB hub, so as not to consume
one of the laptop's often limited number of USB ports.
