BCOBS (Banking Conduct of Business) -Interest Rates on Statements :
Description:
On 3rd May 2012the FSA published a handbook notice (109) after prior industry
consultation. This includes amendment to the banking conduct of business (BCOBS) to state
that firms should put the rate (or rates) of interest that apply on each statement of account
provided to customers.
This project deals with an enhancement to the existing system which calculates the interest
rates and sends required details to the third party vendor of the bank to prepare the Account
statement for the customer on demand. Main Idea behind amendment is to motivate
customers for saving.
One of the mainrequirementsistoprintthe applicable creditinterestratesinthe international
account statement.Internationalsystemshouldbe changed such that ‘current’ (i.e. rate at the
time of statementgeneration) interestratesare to be printedinthe account statement.Even if
the applicable interestrate iszeroforcertainduration,thatdetail alsoneedstobe displayed in
the report.
