1 Analysis of University Training for Strategic Managers
of the 21ST Century
A competency approach comes to the fore in the area
of ​​teaching activities. Teacher status is now changing. Specialists
create a new model of university teacher as a professional. This
model is associated with the search for identity of teacher as a
high-educated expert on education and teaching. The modern
view of the teacher as a professional requires a high level of
autonomy, self-awareness and self-control in the performance of
his profession.

Competency profile of teacher is a summary of key
competencies and from stemming therefrom capabilities,
which characterize the performance profession.
Application of AHP method for evaluation of
competency profile of an employee Institute of Industrial
Engineering and Management was carried out through the use
of Expert Choice.

The starting point for the application of AHP method is to create a
hierarchical structure. Top element of the hierarchical structure is goal
of problem.
Determination of objective decision-making
The aim was to evaluate the competency profile of an employee of
Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management.
Alternatives of solution
Alternative of solution represent the employees of Institute of
Industrial Engineering and Management of Faculty of Materials
Science and Technology in Trnava. It was selected sample of five
employees of the Institute, who provided their data for processing
proposal competency profile.

Proposal of criteria for evaluation of alternatives solve
Solving the problem through use of the software Expert Choice:
 Determination and input of objective criteria and alternatives
to the decision problem.
 Assigning weight to individual criterion by pairwise
comparison of criteria.
 Evaluation of alternatives by paired comparisons for individual
criteria.
 Evaluation of the optimal alternative solution.

Determine the weights of criteria
In the figure, can be seen that the most important criterion of
first-level hierarchical structure is the criterion Cooperation and
the criterion Qualification has the lowest weight.

Evaluation of alternatives
The employees of UPIM MTF STU are named as P1, P2, P3, P4
and P5 in tables. Figure shows the ranking of employees. Most
competent employee is employee P1, then employees P2, P5,
P3 and on last position is employee P4.

Other model was designed based on recommendations
from the personnel department faculty. It is competency model
for the assessment of candidates for a job position as a university
teacher.
Determination of objective decision-making
The objective of decision-making was to determine
selection of the most suitable candidate for the job position of
university teacher and to creating of Model 2, as the proposal of
competency profile of candidate to job position of teacher of
Institute Industrial Engineering and Management.

Alternatives of solution
Alternative solutions are presented by employees of
Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management MTF STU in
Trnava. Employees were contacted through a questionnaire. It
was selected sample 6 random respondents.

(Evaluation Model for Selection of University Teacher)
For the Model 2 was selected 12 key criteria that candidate have to met by the
for the job position of teacher of UPIM namely:
 Knowledge of a foreign language;
 Tolerance (multicultural thinking);
 Ability to lead of people;
 Ability to motivate of people;
 Empathy;
 Critical thinking;
 Ability of self-control;
 Nature and natural intelligence;
 Diligence;
 Responsibility;
 Knowledge of the subject taught;
 Communication and rhetorical skills;

Determine the weights of criteria
In Figure, it can be seen that the most important criterion is
Responsibility and criterion Knowledge of foreign language has
the least weight.

Evaluation of alternatives
Evaluation of alternatives can be performed by using the
pairwise comparisons. Respondent indicated as P1 is on the first
position, followed by the respondent labelled P5 and
respondent P3 takes last position.

Specialists create a new model of university teacher as a professional. This model is associated with the search for identity of teacher as a high-educated expert on education and teaching. The modern view of the teacher as a professional requires a high level of autonomy, self-awareness and self-control in the performance of his profession. 4/18

  • 7. The starting point for the application of AHP method is to create a hierarchical structure. Top element of the hierarchical structure is goal of problem. Determination of objective decision-making The aim was to evaluate the competency profile of an employee of Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management. Alternatives of solution Alternative of solution represent the employees of Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management of Faculty of Materials Science and Technology in Trnava.   • 12. Evaluation of alternatives The employees of UPIM MTF STU are named as P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5 in tables. Figure shows the ranking of employees.   • 13. 3 Application of AHP Method for Evaluation of Teacher Competency Profile of UPIM – Model 2 – EMSUT (Evaluation Model for Selection of University Teacher) Other model was designed based on recommendations from the personnel department faculty. It is competency model for the assessment of candidates for a job position as a university teacher. Determination of objective decision-making The objective of decision-making was to determine selection of the most suitable candidate for the job position of university teacher and to creating of Model 2, as the proposal of competency profile of candidate to job position of teacher of Institute Industrial Engineering and Management. 13/18
  • 14. Alternatives of solution Alternative solutions are presented by employees of Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management MTF STU in Trnava. Employees were contacted through a questionnaire. For the Model 2 was selected 12 key criteria that candidate have to met by the for the job position of teacher of UPIM namely:  Knowledge of a foreign language;  Tolerance (multicultural thinking);  Ability to lead of people;  Ability to motivate of people;  Empathy;  Critical thinking;  Ability of self-control;  Nature and natural intelligence;  Diligence;  Responsibility;  Knowledge of the subject taught;  Communication and rhetorical skills; 15/18 3 Application of AHP Method for Evaluation of Teacher Competency Profile of UPIM – Model 2 – EMSUT (Evaluation Model for Selection of University Teacher)

  • 17. Evaluation of alternatives Evaluation of alternatives can be performed by using the pairwise comparisons.
