1. Hello everyone!
My Name is Norah Meiers and I’m a 63 years old ex-teacher.
I got three adorable kids and as every parent, I’m always concerned about their lifestyle and future.
Today I’m writing this article to tell you about my favorite hobby: Fairy Gardening
I have always been a gardener since I love the nature and flowers and always want them around me.
Unfortunately my children didn’t think the same way. They spent most of their time in front of their
playstation and computer.
I was thinking about how to make fairy gardening fun for my kids to make them discover new
hobbies instead of sitting at home in front of a screen.
In the beginning, I need to tell you something about fairy gardens.
You create a miniature garden with some fairy elements to lure fairies into it, what brings luck for
your life since fairies fulfill wishes for those who find them.
You create these Fairy Gardens with things you find in nature or in your own garden, so the fairies
feel home.
I involved my children into the process of building a fairy garden by giving them small tasks to do like
finding a bunch of sticks for a fairy garden fence. First they tried to dodge the work I gave them, but I
stayed consequent and they brought me the sticks.
Afterwards I told them to go and look for some Maple leafs for the Fairy Garden and again they
weren’t happy with this, but I made them do it.
When they came back, they asked me what for they are collecting those things. They showed that
they wanted to know more about the fairy gardening.
I told them about it and for the first time, I had the impression that they are actually listening!
After giving them some time, I made it their task to build a wooden mushroom for a fairy garden
project of mine.
They had to collect material and build the mushroom on their own and I was pretty surprised, but
they dealt with it. After doing so I gave them a little present as payment for doing great.
Today they work with me on a regular basis and also got their own Fairy Garden Projects and they
even earn some money with selling those as decorations!
