1. Double page spread

2. I firstly open an A4
page in InDesign
I added 3 pages, so
that I could have
two A4 pages
together to make it
a double page
spread.

3. I then adjusted the
margins of the
image so that I
could fit everything
how I wanted in the
pages.

4. I then added a
border around
were the
gutter is using
the rectangle
tool

5. I then added 3
columns to the page
using the margins
and columns layout
tool

6. I then used the
placement holder
tool and the text
tool to add
placements for all of
my different assets

7. I then added
placement text into
the text boxes so I
could plan where
my text would be

8. I then split the text
into columns using
text frame options
and changing the
number of columns
to 3

9. I then added the
title and images in
the placement
boxes I added
before

10. I then added the
colours from my
colour pallet using
the eye dropper
tool. I eventually
changed the
background

11. I then added the
text for my body
copy by pasting it in
place of the
placement text

12. I then changed the
background to a
darker version of
the background in
the images so it
reflected them and
matched well
I also adjusted some of the
colours: I made the boarder
white so it would stand out and
the text all white to match.
I also lowered the
opacity of the text
box as I didn’t want
it to stand out as
much as it was.

13. I then added the
addition text in text
boxes:
-credits
-page number
-name of magazine

14. I then added a
graphic using the
shape tool to
show the rating
of the festival
I added all of the
text to the text
box containing
the general info
about the
festival

15. I lastly added a pull
quote to the
magazine from the
interview
