An Anti-bullying campaign proposal
"an act broadly defined as a class of intentional and
repeated acts that occur through physical, verbal, and
relational forms in situations where power difference is
present" (Olweus, 1993)

at YTI Elementary
School are categorized
as verbal bullying act.
This act including calling
names, unpleasant
swearing, etc.
To address bullying problem at school, it is important to
pay attention to every details of the problem, as well as
caution to prevent bullying case from reoccuring
Brave yourself, Tell your world.
Project TELL based on Huneck’s 5 point on how to stop and prevent
bullying at school (2007). Project TELL is a set of versatile, fully
scalable programs as countermeasure for bullying. These programs
are working as both preventive and curative measure.
Bullying decreases in schools where:
• Trusting Student / Teacher relationships are the norm
• Students and teachers are aware of behaviors that constitute bullying
• Empathy and compassion are embedded in the culture of the school
• Attention is directed to the connection between school climate and student
achievement
• Policies are in place and rules and consequences are understood
Huneck’s 5 point may be practically interpreted into 3 key points:
Awareness of what constitutes bullying, relationship between parents,
teacher, and students, and enforcement of rule and its consequences.
These three key points translated into TELL Project Key Activities,
while Huneck’s 5 point become its evaluation parameter
Making awareness towards bullying and encouragement to the bullied to
stand as its objective, Project TELL targets educational institution, mainly
elementary through high school, where bullying most frequent
Project TELL consists of 3 key activities, covering both curative
and preventive measures of anti bullying. These three key
activities includes several sub-activities for specific conditions.
• Communication training for parents and children
• Class representative training
• 24/7 consultation with school-appointed psychologist
• E-learning website with optional authorized certification
Training includes anti-bullying topic and no-bullying
campaign.
Due to the nature of verbal Bullying that one of the factor is
miscommunication (Kamchuchat, 2008), the YTI case’s main
focus are shifted at this key activity.
• School rules and consequences socialization
• Rule enforcement with the help of class representatives
• Homeroom teacher session to ensure rules are heed
Though rules enforcement are just normative action, it is
important to make sure that the rules are heed.
• Class representative groups as class peer support
• Peer support class for bullied children
• Parent-teacher Association sharing session.
Peer support activities are fully curative action to support
the bullied children.
Peer support class are conducted monthly to ensure the
positive progress of emotional recovery of bullied children.

Implementation strategy in YTI Elementary school includes mixing the
training content in the student orienteering and weekly homeroom session,
making the communication of the issue become easier and more effective
To evaluate the project implementation performance, KPI based on
Huneck’s 5 Points are used
In a time frame of 1 full year of implementation:
• All Monthly activity are timely done
• All students and teachers are aware of behaviors that constitute bullying
(100% Awareness)
• Number of bullying case count, either verbal, physical, and emotional, are
decreased by 80%
• Violation of the bullying-related rules are decreased by 75%
Projected cost per-year of the TELL Project for full-scale project. Implementation
projection in YTI Elementary costs as low as Rp. 25.000,-/year/student

  • 4. Category of Bullying Data acquired from students by interview Most of the bullying case at YTI Elementary School are categorized as verbal bullying act. This act including calling names, unpleasant swearing, etc.
  • 5. To address bullying problem at school, it is important to pay attention to every details of the problem, as well as caution to prevent bullying case from reoccuring

  • 7. Project TELL based on Huneck’s 5 point on how to stop and prevent bullying at school (2007). Project TELL is a set of versatile, fully scalable programs as countermeasure for bullying. These programs are working as both preventive and curative measure.
  • 8. Bullying decreases in schools where: • Trusting Student / Teacher relationships are the norm • Students and teachers are aware of behaviors that constitute bullying • Empathy and compassion are embedded in the culture of the school • Attention is directed to the connection between school climate and student achievement • Policies are in place and rules and consequences are understood
  • 9. Huneck’s 5 point may be practically interpreted into 3 key points: Awareness of what constitutes bullying, relationship between parents, teacher, and students, and enforcement of rule and its consequences. These three key points translated into TELL Project Key Activities, while Huneck’s 5 point become its evaluation parameter
  • 10. Making awareness towards bullying and encouragement to the bullied to stand as its objective, Project TELL targets educational institution, mainly elementary through high school, where bullying most frequent
  • 11. Project TELL consists of 3 key activities, covering both curative and preventive measures of anti bullying. These three key activities includes several sub-activities for specific conditions.
  • 12. • Communication training for parents and children • Class representative training • 24/7 consultation with school-appointed psychologist • E-learning website with optional authorized certification Training includes anti-bullying topic and no-bullying campaign. Due to the nature of verbal Bullying that one of the factor is miscommunication (Kamchuchat, 2008), the YTI case’s main focus are shifted at this key activity.
  • 13. • School rules and consequences socialization • Rule enforcement with the help of class representatives • Homeroom teacher session to ensure rules are heed Though rules enforcement are just normative action, it is important to make sure that the rules are heed.
  • 14. • Class representative groups as class peer support • Peer support class for bullied children • Parent-teacher Association sharing session. Peer support activities are fully curative action to support the bullied children. Peer support class are conducted monthly to ensure the positive progress of emotional recovery of bullied children.

To evaluate the project implementation performance, KPI based on Huneck’s 5 Points are used In a time frame of 1 full year of implementation: • All Monthly activity are timely done • All students and teachers are aware of behaviors that constitute bullying (100% Awareness) • Number of bullying case count, either verbal, physical, and emotional, are decreased by 80% • Violation of the bullying-related rules are decreased by 75%
