PAK ARAB REFINERY LTD (PARCO) is a Joint Venture between Government of Pakistan and the
Emirate of Abu Dhabi, incorporated as a public limited company in 1974. 60% of the share
holding is by the Government of Pakistan and 40% by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
PARCO is an integrated energy company, and is a key player in the country’s strategic oil
supply and logistics. With a refining capacity of 100,000 BPD combined storage capacity of
over one million metric tons and 2000 Kilo meters of cross country pipeline network, including
its subsidiary PAPCO.
Experience in Pipeline maintenance & integrity,
 Supervising overall maintenance of crude and HSD oil pipelines in the designated
region & responsible for verifying the actual maintenance work done on site.
 Plan out of schedule survey of pipeline to check the extent of external corrosion
pipeline.
 Prepare yearly survey schedule to identify estimate of internal & external corrosion.
 Provide guidance in carrying out repair/maintenance work of crude and HSD pipeline
 Supervise and carryout schedule and routine maintenance/troubleshooting of mainline
valve assemblies.
 Supervise rehabilitation activities of pipelines for timely restoration of mainline pumping
operation.

2.  Sleeve welding on pipelines on Hot spots by results of Intelligent Pigging and third
party damage.
 Insure schedule survey and maintenance of over head crossing and road/ railway
crossings.
 Supervise and visit maintenance site, review pace & progress of work against plans
and ensure that maintenance is taking place according to schedule.
 Prepare & review all concerned SOPs & manuals
 Supervise and carryout hot tapping activities on different segments of pipelines.
 Supervise and carry out HDD on different segment of pipelines.
 Supervise& Carry out hot tapping work Parco Oil Pipeline, i.e. to replace underground
pipe segment and many other purposes related to pipeline. Similarly carry out stopple
plugging operation with TWD machine.
 Fully command on API and ASME codes of repair and maintenance and construction
i.e. API-1104, 11O7, 1110, 2201, 2200 ASME B-31.4, B.31.3 and other major relevant
codes of ASME, ASTM, ANSI, AWS, and NACE.
 Calculation of pitting growth through B31G & Rstreng and carry out remedial/ repair
work accordingly.
 Ensure cathodic protection of pipelines in designated area & maintain CP system on
pipelines.
 Supervise PSP survey on HSD/Crude oil pipelines to maintain CP system
 Supervise DCVG & PCM survey, on results carry out refurbishing work of coating &
pipelines
 Supervise ECDA of process & spur lines by third party contractor
 Carry out coating and other repair work on results of ECDA.
 Supervise and maintain heavy equipments/machinery to meet any pipeline emergency
timely and properly without any failure.
 Supervise & timely meet pipeline emergency and oil spillage plan and activate all
teams effectively in better way to avoid environmental damage with best timely
response.
 Supervise and monitor ICDA of crude and HSD pipelines and spur lines.
Pipeline Inline inspection & Intelligent Pigging
 Selection of Pigs and preparation of Contract documents & Specifications for
Intelligent and gyroscopic survey of 16 and 18 inch dia. PARCO crude oil pipeline & 26
inch dia. White oil pipeline
 To carry out Inline Pipeline Inspection by launching of different intelligent Pigs
for safe and sound pipeline operation.
 Prepare plan & carry out internal pipeline pigging & assist pigging contractor to carry
out intelligent pigging campaign i.e. Calliper/gauging , Ultrasonic & MF Pigging to
check pipeline integrity.
 Achieved Special training from NGKS/ (WEATHERFORD) RUSSIA for interpretation of
ULTRASONIC PIG (intelligent Pigging) Data (software Service+ ) and study of
defects
 As Coordinator carried out intelligent pigging activities on Crude and HSD pipelines
from Karachi to Mahmood Kot approximately 2000 KM of both pipelines with different
contractors M/s PIPTRONIX (pigging experts) Germany and NGKS (WEATHERFORD)
Russia.
 For confirmation of intelligent pigging data carried out dig verification for checking of
accuracy.

3.  Expert to interpret the ultrasonic pig data of intelligent tool Maintain pipeline integrity for
smooth functioning of pipeline by taking prior measurements by repairing or
replacement of pipeline segment on pigging results.
 Fitness for service study to secure pipeline from any disaster or leakage and zero harm
to environment.
 On pigging result check pitting growth ratio and suggest injection of corrosion inhibitor
to avoid and mitigate corrosion.
 Experience of MFL pigging which have been recently launched by M/s Weatherford in
Parco pipelines and achieved data for checking of pipeline integrity. On results carry
out repair & maintenance work for safe pipeline operation
 Supervise the LRUT activities of spur lines/non-pig able pipelines by third party
contractor and carry out maintenance on results.
 Prepare every year and 05 years Pipeline Inspection Plan and to suggest management
and down line for timely completion of planned schedule.
Project/ construction experience
As part of team involved (White Oil Pipeline) 26 inch dia pipeline Project and was responsible
for supervision and verification of following activities in designated area.
 Selection of route of pipelines and Preparation of ROW
 Unloading, stockpiling, hauling& stinging of line pipe and materials.
 Trenching, Bending, Welding, Tie ins
 Lowering and backfilling of trench
 Crossings of canals, rivers, water courses, underground pipes and cables
 Thrust bore crossing for pipeline and cable at high ways and canals
 Over head crossings at rivers including pilling work.
 Sand Blasting and application of Heat Shrink Sleeves at all girth welds
 Coating disbandment test, and holiday detection test
 Purging and cleaning of pipeline & Air pigging
 Gauging of pipeline
 Installation of valve assemblies
 Hydrostatic testing of pipeline and stations
 Laying of optical fibre cable along pipeline
 Installation of sacrificial anodes for temporary cathodic protection
 Installation of Launcher and Receiver facilities including pig handling facilities.
Hydro testing of pipelines

 Preparation of the pipeline segments for Hydrostatic testing according to Test pressure
calculations.
 Calculation of line fills quantity of water, selection of filling pumps and their pressure/
flow ratings.
 To develop the contingency plan, in case of any leakage during hydrostatic testing.
 To develop the set up for carrying out the line filling activities, selection of pigs
 Installation and calibration of Dead weight Testers, pressure and temperature chart.
 Supervision of oil filling activities after completion of Hydrostatic testing and tie in joints.

Experience in Pipeline Operations (Station & Terminal)

4.  Supervising, Planning, directing and controlling all operational activities of Parco’s big
pumping and terminal station i.e. receiving, storing and pumping of crude oil / HSD
according to the oil movement schedule.
 Energy Efficient Pipeline Operations
 Develop and Review of SOPs for all Operations, Emergency Procedures, review
Operation Manual & implementation of HSEQ.
 Controlled Pipeline Operations during alarm by pass or other abnormality on Pipeline.
 Shutdown Management and emergency preparedness.
 Oversee pig launching / receiving and injecting FLO-XL to ensure that operations are
done according to the laid down policy, procedures and schedule.
 Review & analyze plant modification need, manpower requirement, contractual service
requirement, contracts etc.
 Prepare annual operation budget for station, schedule of expense.
 Exercise budgetary control over the expenses of station
 Planning & generating work orders on SAP PM Module
 Analyze daily Operations Report, System Test Run Reports, Mock Drill Reports,
Accident Reports, ROW visit Reports, IR Investigation Report, P/L coating inspection.
 Receive Oil Movement schedule from the O/M section and disseminate it down the line
to ensure that pumping operations are done accordingly.
 Compile periodical reports about operational and other activities related to station and
update to immediate supervisor.
 Conduct plant inspections to ensure that operation is being done according to the
schedule and laid down safety policy, pumps and equipment are maintained in good
condition, safety and security is being maintained, good housekeeping is being
ensured and shift staff area on duty according to the schedule.
 Conduct and supervise minor and major R&M work at the station.
 AS Senior Engineer Operation coordinate with all maintenance departments i.e.
electrical, Mechanical Maintenance, Instrument, Telecom/SCADA, PG &CP.
 Maintain close relations with local district management and law enforcement agencies
 As a Station Head supervise and control security matters in designated area.
HSEQ Skills
Working as a Zonal Team Leader in designated area and fully involved and look after/monitor
IMS /HSEQ activities.
 Fully familiar & conversant with IMS/HSEQ and carry out all maintenance and
operational activities as per SOP and HSEQ defined policies.
 Ensuring the safety of personnel, equipment including pipeline of the designated region
and environment is maintained.
 Generate IRS and QRI and investigate and find out route cause and provide
suggestions & recommendations.
 Ensure Zero LTA in designated area
