our devotional?
Today’s devotional
is going to be about listening
to Jesus. Listening to Jesus helps
us to draw closer to Him.
Good morning,
Mommy!
What are we
going to learn about

Can we sing
some songs?

2. Jesus likes to speak
to us and answer our
questions.
Can you
guess what I’m
acting out?
Stop, look…
and listen.
Stop talking.
No!
Stop playing.
Stop jumping
around.Stop fidgeting.
Look around?
But it helps to be
still and quiet so that we can
hear Him speak to us.
What should we
stop doing if we want to
hear from Jesus?
Right! If you are too wiggly
or running around, can you hear
what Jesus has to say?
What should we
look at when we want to
hear from Jesus?
Would looking around
help you to hear from Jesus,
or would it distract you?

So who should
you look at?

If we want
Jesus to talk to us,
we have to…
It’s good to get
quiet and real still and
think about Jesus.
You can imagine Jesus
smiling at you, and then listen
to what He has to say.
When we get quiet
and stop looking around,
we can imagine a picture
of Jesus in our minds.

Before we go outside
for playtime, I have one more
card to show you.
What do you think
we’ll hear after we stop,
look, and listen?
We can hear
what Jesus has to
say to us.
Jesus can talk to us
throughout the day, but we
have to make it easy for
Him to speak to us.
Right! Then we can
hear what Jesus has to say,
and we can praise Him
for speaking to us.
How can
we do that?
We can
stop what we’re
doing.
We can look
to Jesus.
And listen.

“Your words came to me, and
I listened carefully to them.
Your words made me very
happy” (Jeremiah 15:16 ICB).
