TAME’s traveling Trailblazers are one-of-a-kind science museums-on-wheels. Exciting, hands-on
exhibits teach students about energy, space, weather, biotechnology, and aerodynamics while
also introducing them to educational and career opportunities in STEM. Volunteers from the
local community work with students as they tour the Trailblazer. We developed and provided extensive training in presenting STEM programs in the library. Each librarian received a comprehensive manual
with programming ideas. Other resources provided were science kits filled with science books and supplies.
Libraries found volunteers from area businesses, industries, civic groups, local organizations,
and library patrons to present programs and help with educating children on the Trailblazer.

The Trailblazer experience was
phenomenal! My girls enjoyed interacting
with the various exhibits. Playing meteorologist
and using the green screen was particularly fun! As
a homeschooling family with an avid interest in the
sciences, the Trailblazer Trailer helped us to reinforce
and give life to many of the concepts we have been
learning. It was like having a science
museum in our own backyard.
