1.1 Statement of problem
An investigation of the causes of dropout at
primary level in Punjab.
1.2 Research Questions
a-Who is responsible for high dropout
at primary level in Punjab?
b-What is the importance of school environment
in reducing dropout?
c-Which factors are involved in high dropout?
Objectives
• To find out causes of
dropout of students at
Primary level.
• To analyze the role of
stakeholders in
dropout.
• To examine the role of
school environment in
high dropout.
1.4 Delimitations
• Due to shortage of time and resources this
research is delimited in Multan city.
• 5 boys and 5 girls schools are taken.
Research Methodology
 Research design Descriptive research and survey method
 Population All primary school teachers,head teachers
and parents.
 Sample Convenient sampling for taking data from 30
members including 10 teachers,10 head teachers an 10 parents
 Instrumentation Questioner
 Data collection Questioner
 Data Analysis Collected data was analyzed. Findings
were presented in percentage form on the basis of which
conclusions and recommendations were given

• 50 persent of people say that high dropout is
due to teacher harsh behaviour
• 30 persent of people say that dropout is due
to poverty
• 20 persent people say that dropout is due to
lack of facilities in school

Findings
• Dropout is due to harsh
behaviour of teacher
• High dropout is due to
lack of basic facilities at
public schools,
unavailability of books
and learning material
and the parents’ lack of
interest in sending the
children to school.
Recommendations
• Teachers behavior must
be polite with students
• It is also suggested that
the government should
provide basic facilities
like drinking water,
electricity, toilet, sitting
–mats, furniture, and
black boards on priority
bases.

  • 6. 1.1 Statement of problem An investigation of the causes of dropout at primary level in Punjab. 1.2 Research Questions a-Who is responsible for high dropout at primary level in Punjab? b-What is the importance of school environment in reducing dropout? c-Which factors are involved in high dropout?
  • 7. Objectives • To find out causes of dropout of students at Primary level. • To analyze the role of stakeholders in dropout. • To examine the role of school environment in high dropout.

Research Methodology  Research design Descriptive research and survey method  Population All primary school teachers,head teachers and parents.  Sample Convenient sampling for taking data from 30 members including 10 teachers,10 head teachers an 10 parents  Instrumentation Questioner  Data collection Questioner  Data Analysis Collected data was analyzed. Findings were presented in percentage form on the basis of which conclusions and recommendations were given

  • 13. DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION • 50 persent of people say that high dropout is due to teacher harsh behaviour • 30 persent of people say that dropout is due to poverty • 20 persent people say that dropout is due to lack of facilities in school

  • 16. Findings • Dropout is due to harsh behaviour of teacher • High dropout is due to lack of basic facilities at public schools, unavailability of books and learning material and the parents’ lack of interest in sending the children to school.
  • 17. Recommendations • Teachers behavior must be polite with students • It is also suggested that the government should provide basic facilities like drinking water, electricity, toilet, sitting –mats, furniture, and black boards on priority bases.
