TMCs & Telecom Site Operations - The Need
The complexity of the average Telco network infrastructure, operations, and physical site locations,
can have a significant impact on their network coverage and subscriber reach. The logistics of
maintaining and operating such an infrastructure can become costly, with factors to consider such
as power consumption, equipment maintenance, accessibility, the environment itself, security etc.
In order to resolve the underlying issues and mitigate expenditures, Telcos outsource their network
operations to TMCs. These companies in turn, reduce their own costs by implementing multi-
tenancy policies, which commonly includes
hosting equipment for several Telcos at indi-
vidual cell sites.
Managing these multiple customers means
that expenditures incurred by individual cli-
ents, need to be separated. This includes
the administration of respective perfor-
mance indicators and enforcing SLAs. It is
obvious that TMCs focus on analytic aids in
order to address their OPEX. Most TMCs
do this by monitoring their KPIs that will
give them a clear indication on their per-
formance, expenditures, and control over
equipment assets for each cell site. Efficient
financial analysis of multi-tenant profiles
and subsequent KPIs, can only be achieved if
data is presented in any specified hierarchal
order, and broken down according to levels
corresponding with these profiles: by coun-
try, region, cluster, site and network. These
aids are crucial in enforcing SLAs.

AIO’s Holistic Approach
The innovative approach of AIO’s CMS management system effectively addresses the complexity
of TMC operations. By combining CMS software, with AIO Controllers and Sensors, all sites can
be monitored and controlled remotely from any centralized position over cellular networks and
various communication protocols. The sites are managed, monitored and controlled in real-time,
and the system automatically detects network connectivity.
CMS SOFTWARE
The CMS software covers all aspects from optimizing energy management, adequately secur-
ing sites, to protecting equipment by conditioning their operations under optimal environmental
conditions. With complete network coverage including comprehensive financial assessments,
customer / supplier portals, performance assurance management, geographic information
systems mapping, reporting and user management. The software’s GUI is intuitive, very easy to
use, implement and deploy.
AIO CONTROLLERS
The system hardware, controllers, are designed to measure, control site elements and can be ac-
tivated on remote commands. The controllers measure electrical energy consumption, indicate
the status of generators and air conditioners, and can be activated with a remote command for
switching the equipment on or off. The controllers also display the levels of fuel in fuel tanks, as
well as the status of the fuel cover. In addition the controllers provide alarm activation or deac-
tivation functionality for site security, indicate power source availability, battery/cell charge and
discharges. The CMS is able to interface with 3rd party controllers, thereby effectively avoiding
unnecessary implementation costs.
SENSORS
Temperature, humidity and security sensors provide indicators for system and perimeter protec-
tion. This includes an “Intelligent Access Control” mechanism, that allows concealed and imitated
sensors to send signals via wireless communication.
The extensive data received by the CMS provides clear visibility on performance, energy distribu-
tion and overall site efficiency, which can direct optimization of fuel consumption, energy usage,
workforce management, preventive maintenance and more.
The CMS gives TMCs the tools to be completely self-sufficient, so after system rollout and a short
training period, there is no need for any intervention by AIO Systems. Tasks that would normally
need customized vendor programming can usually be managed by simple configuration of the
system.
The system may be installed independently, or via the cloud services provided by AIO. This flex-
ibility enables end-users to choose their hosting profile suitable to their own operations, which
can be changed at any stage of the systems lifetime.

Superior System Architecture
AIO’s CMS system architecture secures control over the entire NOC structure. Its hierarchical
structure means that it can support over 400 branches and 4000 sites. Benefit from:
SITE MANAGEMENT DASHBOARD: An instant view of overall system health with views
of assets, alerts, performance, configuration and history;
ALERT MANAGEMENT: Manages the specification of and response to alerts in the system
based on region, severity, type, period and more. Alert customizing on a high level signifi-
cantly reduces the MTTR;
PERFORMANCE/ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT: Defines and displays performance dash-
boards based on customer criteria. Validates system setup and verifies that the customer is
achieving nominal benchmarks;
ASSET MANAGEMENT: Automatic digital management of on-site inventory from full
equipment details to maintenance schedules;
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE: Define and automatically trigger regular maintenance
for any equipment on site with fully specified procedures and alert mechanisms. Provides
full visibility of maintenance costs in financial reports;
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS: Detailed financial analysis of site management costs including
both CAPEX and OPEX. Calculates both price fluctuations and equipment depreciation.
Reports can be provided per tenant, region, cluster, globally or across any other custom
cross-section;

CUSTOMER/SUPPLIER PORTAL: Provides permission-based visibility of the system to
each tenant at the site. Each customer can only access what he is allowed to see. Manage
preventive maintenance and fault handling. This module also acts as a unique sales tool by
indicating additional site locations that are available for additional tenants;
GIS: Displays data on a map aggregated by assets, alerts, regions or any custom parameter.
Allows the TMC to track any mobile assets on a map;
USER ADMINISTRATION: Through a one-time definition of costs, site preferences, users,
alerts, reports and more, configuration and settings normally requiring programmatic cus-
tomizing of the system can be managed by the administrator;
Flexible Cloud Hosting Services
The CMS is available as a cloud service which lowers costs by outsourcing operations. Choose
your own portfolio from two levels:
CLOUD CMS: AIO systems will host the CMS for the TMC, but site management is handled
by the company itself. The company’s site administrators are provided full and secure ac-
cess through the web portal, without the need to install and maintain the CMS on company
servers;
CLOUD NOC: AIO systems offers a complete site management solution as a managed ser-
vice. AIO Systems handles the full range of services including rollout, monitoring, alert re-
sponse, performance, maintenance and more;
Centralized Site Management & Dashboard
The CMS dashboard is its main control center and gives the operator a view of system health,
and the ability to control any of the connected equipment through a convenient and intuitive
GUI for complete FCAPS management. Live sensor data is continuously transmitted to the CMS
providing accurate real time status at a glance.
The dashboard
displays the most
fundamental indi-
cators on alerts,
power supply and
communications
constantly on the
screen. Alerts are
color coded by se-
verity, so the op-
erator can instantly
see something that
needs investigation.
They can be filtered by location, severity, element or any other parameter. A customer can even
specify custom filters that can be configured into the system.

A wide variety of charts can be added to the screen, and these can be configured according to
the additional information that is interesting to each specific user.
When a specific site is selected in the navigation bar, the CMS displays a schematic site map rep-
resenting all the site elements (generators, shelters, grids, gates and fences, security cameras,
air-conditioners etc.) Any screen element can be resized by the user and placed anywhere on
the map for clarity. Selecting any element displays real time data such as temperature, energy
consumption, fuel levels and more. By selecting an element, the user can control it remotely.
For example, the user can switch on an auxiliary generator, unlock a site gate, and open a shelter
door and more.
MITIGATE MTTR
The comprehensive alert management capabilities of the CMS can instantly notify an operator
of any acute events happening on site. Multiple alert mechanisms including SMS and email as
well as clear visual and audio notifications alert immediate response operators. Extensive sup-
port for security equipment immediately notifies the NOC operator of human induced events
such as tampering, vandalism or theft.
IMPROVED MTBF
Constant alert indications on screen give
the operator an overall view of system sta-
tus at a glance. Together with clear perfor-
mance indicators (e.g. fuel, electricity, and
overall site efficiency) the components can
quickly identify trends that lead to equip-
ment malfunction and point out elements
and sites that need attention. In this way,
problems can be addressed before any
equipment fails.
OPTIMIZE PERFORMANCE
Flexibility of the CMS promotes optimization of performance from different aspects. The dash-
board can be customized so that each user sees the performance indicators relevant to his
position in the organization. For example, company CFOs may want to see financial indicators,
whilst a site manager may want to see more technical indicators. By customizing the site’s hi-
erarchy in the navigation bar, allows operators to define benchmark sites based on any set of
parameters. These “optimal” custom site groups can be used as a point of comparison for other
sites. The extensive event history stored by the CMS can be automatically played back allowing
a convenient tool to quickly analyze and diagnose performance issues.

REDUCED OPEX
The CMS helps reduce the OPEX in several ways. Firstly, the previously mentioned improvements
in MTTR, MTBF and performance indicators have an obvious impact on costs. Secondly, the sys-
tem‘s ability to constantly compare nominal to actual consumption of fuel and power, reduces
fuel thefts, curtails fuel and power consumption, tracks refueling and more. The ability to re-
motely operate any site element reduces the need for on-site visits. This is especially significant
for remote sites that may be extremely difficult to access. The TMC’s operators can also reuse
successful site configurations and define any number of site map profiles. These can then be
used for the quick and easy setup of multiple and future sites. Finally, the CMS comes with a set
of pre-defined default templates based on AIO’s extensive knowledge of successful site configu-
rations. However, to accommodate any specific customer needs, AIO Systems develops custom
configurations during system rollout, and provides extensive customer training. The result is that
following rollout, the operator is autonomous and requires no costly vendor intervention.
Alert Management
The Alert Management
module lets the operator
manage the specification
of and response to alerts in
the system based on region,
severity, type and period.
Efficient alert management
that integrates fault man-
agement coupled with a
trouble ticketing systems
can dramatically reduce
MTTR and improve the sites’ overall performance.
Alerts reflect real time events that happen at a site and can be divided into three categories:
CONTROLLER ALERTS: These are generated by the controller at the site itself, and indicate
an event that was detected at any of its physical input or output connections. They usually
comprise of sensor threshold alerts such as high temperature, low voltage, low fuel level etc.
BUILT-IN ALERTS: The CMS is equipped with a pre-configured system log, that includes
“recurring alerts” that indicate a recurring event, communications alerts or fuel dropping/
refueling alerts.
USER-DEFINED CUSTOM ALERTS: The CMS user can define logical alerts based on a set
of events that happen together. This provides a flexible way to customize alerts and comply
with an organization’s operational procedures. For example, a user could define a “fire alert”
if a “smoke alert” and a “high temperature alert” occur together. Another example could be
a “theft alert” if the generator lid is opened and then a rapid drop in fuel is detected.

IMMEDIATE EVENT RESPONSE
AIO’s CMS platform is equipped with a significant alert bank, aimed at addressing all the needs
of TMC operations. The basic site configuration defines classes and groups of alerts, and speci-
fies base threshold values and alerts. Each alert is assigned a severity and mode of notification
which can come in a variety of forms.
In addition to being displayed in the CMS alert window, alerts can generate an SMS or email to
any number of users, open trouble tickets with legacy systems, initiate a phone call and more.
High severity alerts can even be configured to sound a siren alarm, or issue a machine-generat-
ed voice prompt.
INTUITIVE, INTERACTIVE & EASY TO USE
The CMS also ensures that managing alerts is as easy as possible. With a simple right-click on any
alert allows you to perform functions, such as acknowledging/rejecting the alert, full access to
a support ticketing system and more. More extensive handling can be automatically invoked by
specifying complete management procedures for any alert. In order to comply with individual/
multiple SLA stipulations, an automatic escalation process can be configured into the system
for each alert. If alerts are not handled within the specified time, they will be automatically be
redirected to higher management.
The CMS support ticketing system is highly compatible and maybe integrated into any 3rd party
system. Similarly, connecting to northbound management systems keeps the TMC’s customers
aware of event handling in real time. In the south-bound direction, the CMS acts as a MOM con-
necting to management systems that will initiate actions from suppliers to handle alerts.
POST-ALERT ANALYSIS SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
The in-depth history stored in the database allows for detailed analysis of each alert and the
event that caused it. The CMS can play back history over any period of time effectively providing
an “instant replay” of the sequence of events that led to an alert. History can be run on different
cross-sections of the system such as by geography, alert type or severity, and several filtering
options allow the analysis to be focused on anything suspicious of being the cause of an alert.
Instantaneous Performance / Assurance Management
The Performance / Assur-
ance Management module
gives the CMS operator and
managers an instant view of
system performance at any
level in the hierarchy that
they wish to examine.

NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND SLA COMPLIANCE
This module provides invaluable and unequivocal performance indicators that can be used to
prove northbound SLA compliance to the TMC’s customers and tenants, and to enforce south-
bound SLA compliance with their various suppliers.
COMPREHENSIVE AND VARIABLE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS
Each user may define a performance dashboard using a large selection of built-in charts that
compare actual performance against nominal benchmark values configured in the system. In
addition, executive dashboards that do not require logging into the system, can also be defined.
The many chart types range from technical details such as generator fuel usage through financial
performance such as diesel cost, kWh cost, HR cost, penalties, depreciation values and monthly
OPEX. In addition to the standard built-in charts, AIO Systems can develop customized charts as
required at system rollout. In line with the paradigm for the CMS in general, the charts are dy-
namic, so the user can understand overall system performance from a high level in the navigation
hierarchy, and then drill down to view performance at any lower level all the way to a specific site.
DATA VALIDATION
Nominal benchmarks are configured into the system during rollout and can be customized as
needed. All data collected is validated by comparing it to the benchmark values at fourteen
different levels. Seven of those are on site, and seven at the CMS which continuously downloads
site parameters to show performance indications in real time. To facilitate long term performance
analysis, the CMS also provides hooks that allow legacy systems such as BI to connect and extract
data.
AUTOMATIC REPORTS
AIO’s CMS automatic reporting module has been designed to meet almost any need and require-
ment of Telcos. The system is highly compatible and data can be exported to Excel, CSV, PDF,
HTML and more. Reports are extremely flexible, and can be filtered and cross-sectioned by any
parameter in the system, and can be run on any level in the navigation hierarchy. Reports can be
generated on demand, or automatically based on any pre-defined schedule. In order to secure
the data, access to reports can be strictly controlled by any permission configuration. Reports
can be cleanly separated between different tenants, and access to system level reports can be
controlled by role.
Detailed Asset Management
The Asset Management module provides
detailed digital management of assets at any
level in the navigation hierarchy.

PRECISE SITE INVENTORY AND COMPREHENSIVE EQUIPMENT DATA
The site map provides an instant visual picture of assets installed at the site such as genera-
tors, fuel tanks, shelters, air-conditioners and more. By clicking on any asset, will open an infor-
mative pop-up menu, displaying full asset details including its online status, full manufacturer
information, maintenance details (refer to Preventive Maintenance) and even real pictures of
each piece of equipment. The site controller automatically detects any new equipment that is
connected or disconnected, and reports it to the CMS. This makes it easy to manage addition or
removal of equipment, and transfer of equipment from one site to another.
COMPLETE VENDOR INFORMATION AND CLEAR AUDIT REPORTS
In addition to information on equipment, the CMS provides detailed information on the equip-
ment’s vendor. It includes full company details, contract period, SLA information and more.
Being able to compare performance with contractual agreements at a resolution that goes
down to each piece of equipment, gives the TMC powerful tools to enforce SLA and negotiate
future contracts.
With the ability to fully analyze data, the CMS can provide clear audit reports based on any
parameter from equipment type to specific tenant. This includes CAPEX calculations for a new
rollout, or OPEX for a legacy contract. Reports can be run across any cross section or via any
filter. The function includes producing annual financial reports quickly and efficiently.
ASSET TAGGING AND TRACKING
AIO Systems offers a mobile application that can track assets based on different mobile tags
such as QR codes, barcodes, RFID, active tags and more. QR codes are generated per equipment
type, and through smart management of codes, a complete inventory of assets can be present-
ed per tenant on site. These same tags are used by the mobile application to track assets and
collect accurate data that allows better control over inventory.
Comprehensive Preventative Maintenance
The Preventive
Maintenance mod-
ule complements
the Asset Manage-
ment module. It
is able to manage
all the technical
specifications per
asset included in
the CMS, for effec-
tive preventative
maintenance.

This enables the TMC to manage their workforce efficiently by sending technicians with the right
skills and equipment to sites needing maintenance in a timely manner.
MANAGING MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES AND PROCEDURES
The CMS maintains a wealth of maintenance information. This includes a full description of
maintenance procedures and associated costs, equipment location along with GIS coordinates
(Lat/Lon), laboratory reports, special remarks and more. Maintenance history as well as up-
coming maintenance are also available. Since all regular costs are configured into the system,
and unpredictable costs can be updated on the spot, the CMS is able to automatically generate
accurate maintenance costs for financial reports, such as P&L at any time.
MOBILE APPLICATION
The same mobile application used for asset tracking is also used during site maintenance. Using
the different asset tags placed on each piece of equipment, the maintenance technician can get
instant access to complete, up-to-date equipment data and maintenance procedures, and can
update the maintenance log on the spot (including unexpected costs).
MAINTENANCE DASHBOARD
Through the flexibility of the CMS dashboard, a maintenance manager can configure the system
to display the most relevant information he is interested in. Since the CMS is updated in real
time, it provides complete up-to-the-minute asset information and maintenance status helping
the manager make good decisions to optimize both MTTR and MTBF.
Across The Board Financial Analysis
The CMS provides
a full range of de-
tailed reports at the
click of a button to
give a clear finan-
cial picture at any
level of operation.
The variety of re-
ports includes P&L,
CAPEX and OPEX,
and can be filtered
or cross-sectioned per tenant, site, region and cluster, or run globally for the whole network.
The flexible reporting capabilities can even consider items with fluctuating costs such as fuel and
electricity, as well as depreciation of equipment over time. With detailed financial reports TMCs
can prove cost SLA compliance to customers, and negotiate better SLAs from suppliers.

© AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 11
B2B Customer Supplier Portal
The Customer/Supplier Portal uses a set of permissions that only allow access to data that each
customer and supplier is authorized to see when they log into the system. Tenants can only see
equipment belonging to them specifically (e.g. shelter, battery, DC supply) and common shared
equipment such as generators , AC supply and air-conditioners. Suppliers will only have access
to equipment they are contracted to service, as well as relevant maintenance tasks, faults and
alerts. The Customer/Supplier Portal can be an effective sales tool by displaying to customers
additional available sites at which they can contract tenancy.
Enhanced GIS Module
The GIS Module pro-
vides a map-based
view of site status
based on any set of
parameters.
Indicators:
STATUS: Displays all sites on the selected energy source type, or all sites that are discon-
nected from the power;
ASSET TYPE & CONFIGURATION: Displays all sites by equipment type, e.g. generator;
PERFORMANCE LAYERS & ALERTS: Displays all sites according alert type / performance
configuration, e.g. power / temperature alert;
Since all sites and equipment can be accurately located by GPS coordinates, the GIS module can
provide these coordinates to navigation applications for efficient routing to sites, and can also
track assets being transferred between sites while they are in transit. The same flexible permis-
sion system described for the Customer/Supplier portal ensures that tenants and suppliers can
see only sites and equipment, which they are authorized to, on the map.

Flexible User Administration
The User Administration module is what gives the CMS its high degree of flexibility with the abil-
ity to provide a customized experience for each user. It is through this module that the system
administrator configures things like summary dashboards and reports customized for different
roles in the organization (e.g. CFO or Operations Manager).
SYSTEM ROLLOUT AND ADMINISTRATOR AUTONOMY
During system roll-
out, AIO Systems
works with the ad-
ministrator to set up
and configure the
system with a wide
variety of param-
eters.
For example, users and associated access privileges, regions and navigation hierarchy, different
sites, alerts types, thresholds and severity, variable costs per region (e.g. fuel and electricity),
maintenance schedules, reports and much more.
Fully Integrated AIO Cloud Services & Customer-Owned CMS
In addition to the standard AIO customer profile, where the CMS is owned and operated by
the customer, AIO Systems offers the CMS as a cloud service that is extremely beneficial to the
customer. By outsourcing AIO’S Hardware and CMS Services, companies can reduce initial costs
and then scale up easily without having to invest in an expensive infrastructure. Processes are
streamlined as more things get done by fewer people, and the need to train personnel on a new
system is reduced. AIO Systems offers the CMS as a cloud service in two modes, namely: Cloud
CMS and Cloud NOC.
CUSTOMER-OWNED CMS
The customer-owned CMS, the TMC integrates
the CMS into the company’s network infrastruc-
ture. This gives the TMC total control over
data and the TMC subsequently manages the
system according to company’s operating re-
quirements.

TMCs & Telecom Site Operations - The Need The complexity of the average Telco network infrastructure, operations, and physical site locations, can have a significant impact on their network coverage and subscriber reach. The logistics of maintaining and operating such an infrastructure can become costly, with factors to consider such as power consumption, equipment maintenance, accessibility, the environment itself, security etc. In order to resolve the underlying issues and mitigate expenditures, Telcos outsource their network operations to TMCs. These companies in turn, reduce their own costs by implementing multi- tenancy policies, which commonly includes hosting equipment for several Telcos at indi- vidual cell sites. Managing these multiple customers means that expenditures incurred by individual cli- ents, need to be separated. This includes the administration of respective perfor- mance indicators and enforcing SLAs. It is obvious that TMCs focus on analytic aids in order to address their OPEX. Most TMCs do this by monitoring their KPIs that will give them a clear indication on their per- formance, expenditures, and control over equipment assets for each cell site. Efficient financial analysis of multi-tenant profiles and subsequent KPIs, can only be achieved if data is presented in any specified hierarchal order, and broken down according to levels corresponding with these profiles: by coun- try, region, cluster, site and network. These aids are crucial in enforcing SLAs. • 3. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD AIO’s Holistic Approach The innovative approach of AIO’s CMS management system effectively addresses the complexity of TMC operations. By combining CMS software, with AIO Controllers and Sensors, all sites can be monitored and controlled remotely from any centralized position over cellular networks and various communication protocols. The sites are managed, monitored and controlled in real-time, and the system automatically detects network connectivity. CMS SOFTWARE The CMS software covers all aspects from optimizing energy management, adequately secur- ing sites, to protecting equipment by conditioning their operations under optimal environmental conditions. With complete network coverage including comprehensive financial assessments, customer / supplier portals, performance assurance management, geographic information systems mapping, reporting and user management. The software’s GUI is intuitive, very easy to use, implement and deploy. AIO CONTROLLERS The system hardware, controllers, are designed to measure, control site elements and can be ac- tivated on remote commands. The controllers measure electrical energy consumption, indicate the status of generators and air conditioners, and can be activated with a remote command for switching the equipment on or off. The controllers also display the levels of fuel in fuel tanks, as well as the status of the fuel cover. In addition the controllers provide alarm activation or deac- tivation functionality for site security, indicate power source availability, battery/cell charge and discharges. The CMS is able to interface with 3rd party controllers, thereby effectively avoiding unnecessary implementation costs. SENSORS Temperature, humidity and security sensors provide indicators for system and perimeter protec- tion. This includes an “Intelligent Access Control” mechanism, that allows concealed and imitated sensors to send signals via wireless communication. The extensive data received by the CMS provides clear visibility on performance, energy distribu- tion and overall site efficiency, which can direct optimization of fuel consumption, energy usage, workforce management, preventive maintenance and more. The CMS gives TMCs the tools to be completely self-sufficient, so after system rollout and a short training period, there is no need for any intervention by AIO Systems. Tasks that would normally need customized vendor programming can usually be managed by simple configuration of the system. The system may be installed independently, or via the cloud services provided by AIO. This flex- ibility enables end-users to choose their hosting profile suitable to their own operations, which can be changed at any stage of the systems lifetime. PAGE 2
  • 4. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 3 Superior System Architecture AIO’s CMS system architecture secures control over the entire NOC structure. Its hierarchical structure means that it can support over 400 branches and 4000 sites. Benefit from: SITE MANAGEMENT DASHBOARD: An instant view of overall system health with views of assets, alerts, performance, configuration and history; ALERT MANAGEMENT: Manages the specification of and response to alerts in the system based on region, severity, type, period and more. Alert customizing on a high level signifi- cantly reduces the MTTR; PERFORMANCE/ASSURANCE MANAGEMENT: Defines and displays performance dash- boards based on customer criteria. Validates system setup and verifies that the customer is achieving nominal benchmarks; ASSET MANAGEMENT: Automatic digital management of on-site inventory from full equipment details to maintenance schedules; PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE: Define and automatically trigger regular maintenance for any equipment on site with fully specified procedures and alert mechanisms. Provides full visibility of maintenance costs in financial reports; FINANCIAL ANALYSIS: Detailed financial analysis of site management costs including both CAPEX and OPEX. Calculates both price fluctuations and equipment depreciation. Reports can be provided per tenant, region, cluster, globally or across any other custom cross-section;
  • 5. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 4 CUSTOMER/SUPPLIER PORTAL: Provides permission-based visibility of the system to each tenant at the site. Each customer can only access what he is allowed to see. Manage preventive maintenance and fault handling. This module also acts as a unique sales tool by indicating additional site locations that are available for additional tenants; GIS: Displays data on a map aggregated by assets, alerts, regions or any custom parameter. Allows the TMC to track any mobile assets on a map; USER ADMINISTRATION: Through a one-time definition of costs, site preferences, users, alerts, reports and more, configuration and settings normally requiring programmatic cus- tomizing of the system can be managed by the administrator; Flexible Cloud Hosting Services The CMS is available as a cloud service which lowers costs by outsourcing operations. Choose your own portfolio from two levels: CLOUD CMS: AIO systems will host the CMS for the TMC, but site management is handled by the company itself. The company’s site administrators are provided full and secure ac- cess through the web portal, without the need to install and maintain the CMS on company servers; CLOUD NOC: AIO systems offers a complete site management solution as a managed ser- vice. AIO Systems handles the full range of services including rollout, monitoring, alert re- sponse, performance, maintenance and more; Centralized Site Management & Dashboard The CMS dashboard is its main control center and gives the operator a view of system health, and the ability to control any of the connected equipment through a convenient and intuitive GUI for complete FCAPS management. Live sensor data is continuously transmitted to the CMS providing accurate real time status at a glance. The dashboard displays the most fundamental indi- cators on alerts, power supply and communications constantly on the screen. Alerts are color coded by se- verity, so the op- erator can instantly see something that needs investigation. They can be filtered by location, severity, element or any other parameter. A customer can even specify custom filters that can be configured into the system.
  • 6. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 5 A wide variety of charts can be added to the screen, and these can be configured according to the additional information that is interesting to each specific user. When a specific site is selected in the navigation bar, the CMS displays a schematic site map rep- resenting all the site elements (generators, shelters, grids, gates and fences, security cameras, air-conditioners etc.) Any screen element can be resized by the user and placed anywhere on the map for clarity. Selecting any element displays real time data such as temperature, energy consumption, fuel levels and more. By selecting an element, the user can control it remotely. For example, the user can switch on an auxiliary generator, unlock a site gate, and open a shelter door and more. MITIGATE MTTR The comprehensive alert management capabilities of the CMS can instantly notify an operator of any acute events happening on site. Multiple alert mechanisms including SMS and email as well as clear visual and audio notifications alert immediate response operators. Extensive sup- port for security equipment immediately notifies the NOC operator of human induced events such as tampering, vandalism or theft. IMPROVED MTBF Constant alert indications on screen give the operator an overall view of system sta- tus at a glance. Together with clear perfor- mance indicators (e.g. fuel, electricity, and overall site efficiency) the components can quickly identify trends that lead to equip- ment malfunction and point out elements and sites that need attention. In this way, problems can be addressed before any equipment fails. OPTIMIZE PERFORMANCE Flexibility of the CMS promotes optimization of performance from different aspects. The dash- board can be customized so that each user sees the performance indicators relevant to his position in the organization. For example, company CFOs may want to see financial indicators, whilst a site manager may want to see more technical indicators. By customizing the site’s hi- erarchy in the navigation bar, allows operators to define benchmark sites based on any set of parameters. These “optimal” custom site groups can be used as a point of comparison for other sites. The extensive event history stored by the CMS can be automatically played back allowing a convenient tool to quickly analyze and diagnose performance issues.
  • 7. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 6 REDUCED OPEX The CMS helps reduce the OPEX in several ways. Firstly, the previously mentioned improvements in MTTR, MTBF and performance indicators have an obvious impact on costs. Secondly, the sys- tem‘s ability to constantly compare nominal to actual consumption of fuel and power, reduces fuel thefts, curtails fuel and power consumption, tracks refueling and more. The ability to re- motely operate any site element reduces the need for on-site visits. This is especially significant for remote sites that may be extremely difficult to access. The TMC’s operators can also reuse successful site configurations and define any number of site map profiles. These can then be used for the quick and easy setup of multiple and future sites. Finally, the CMS comes with a set of pre-defined default templates based on AIO’s extensive knowledge of successful site configu- rations. However, to accommodate any specific customer needs, AIO Systems develops custom configurations during system rollout, and provides extensive customer training. The result is that following rollout, the operator is autonomous and requires no costly vendor intervention. Alert Management The Alert Management module lets the operator manage the specification of and response to alerts in the system based on region, severity, type and period. Efficient alert management that integrates fault man- agement coupled with a trouble ticketing systems can dramatically reduce MTTR and improve the sites’ overall performance. Alerts reflect real time events that happen at a site and can be divided into three categories: CONTROLLER ALERTS: These are generated by the controller at the site itself, and indicate an event that was detected at any of its physical input or output connections. They usually comprise of sensor threshold alerts such as high temperature, low voltage, low fuel level etc. BUILT-IN ALERTS: The CMS is equipped with a pre-configured system log, that includes “recurring alerts” that indicate a recurring event, communications alerts or fuel dropping/ refueling alerts. USER-DEFINED CUSTOM ALERTS: The CMS user can define logical alerts based on a set of events that happen together. This provides a flexible way to customize alerts and comply with an organization’s operational procedures. For example, a user could define a “fire alert” if a “smoke alert” and a “high temperature alert” occur together. Another example could be a “theft alert” if the generator lid is opened and then a rapid drop in fuel is detected.
  • 8. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 7 IMMEDIATE EVENT RESPONSE AIO’s CMS platform is equipped with a significant alert bank, aimed at addressing all the needs of TMC operations. The basic site configuration defines classes and groups of alerts, and speci- fies base threshold values and alerts. Each alert is assigned a severity and mode of notification which can come in a variety of forms. In addition to being displayed in the CMS alert window, alerts can generate an SMS or email to any number of users, open trouble tickets with legacy systems, initiate a phone call and more. High severity alerts can even be configured to sound a siren alarm, or issue a machine-generat- ed voice prompt. INTUITIVE, INTERACTIVE & EASY TO USE The CMS also ensures that managing alerts is as easy as possible. With a simple right-click on any alert allows you to perform functions, such as acknowledging/rejecting the alert, full access to a support ticketing system and more. More extensive handling can be automatically invoked by specifying complete management procedures for any alert. In order to comply with individual/ multiple SLA stipulations, an automatic escalation process can be configured into the system for each alert. If alerts are not handled within the specified time, they will be automatically be redirected to higher management. The CMS support ticketing system is highly compatible and maybe integrated into any 3rd party system. Similarly, connecting to northbound management systems keeps the TMC’s customers aware of event handling in real time. In the south-bound direction, the CMS acts as a MOM con- necting to management systems that will initiate actions from suppliers to handle alerts. POST-ALERT ANALYSIS SYSTEM MAINTENANCE The in-depth history stored in the database allows for detailed analysis of each alert and the event that caused it. The CMS can play back history over any period of time effectively providing an “instant replay” of the sequence of events that led to an alert. History can be run on different cross-sections of the system such as by geography, alert type or severity, and several filtering options allow the analysis to be focused on anything suspicious of being the cause of an alert. Instantaneous Performance / Assurance Management The Performance / Assur- ance Management module gives the CMS operator and managers an instant view of system performance at any level in the hierarchy that they wish to examine.
  • 9. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 8 NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND SLA COMPLIANCE This module provides invaluable and unequivocal performance indicators that can be used to prove northbound SLA compliance to the TMC’s customers and tenants, and to enforce south- bound SLA compliance with their various suppliers. COMPREHENSIVE AND VARIABLE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS Each user may define a performance dashboard using a large selection of built-in charts that compare actual performance against nominal benchmark values configured in the system. In addition, executive dashboards that do not require logging into the system, can also be defined. The many chart types range from technical details such as generator fuel usage through financial performance such as diesel cost, kWh cost, HR cost, penalties, depreciation values and monthly OPEX. In addition to the standard built-in charts, AIO Systems can develop customized charts as required at system rollout. In line with the paradigm for the CMS in general, the charts are dy- namic, so the user can understand overall system performance from a high level in the navigation hierarchy, and then drill down to view performance at any lower level all the way to a specific site. DATA VALIDATION Nominal benchmarks are configured into the system during rollout and can be customized as needed. All data collected is validated by comparing it to the benchmark values at fourteen different levels. Seven of those are on site, and seven at the CMS which continuously downloads site parameters to show performance indications in real time. To facilitate long term performance analysis, the CMS also provides hooks that allow legacy systems such as BI to connect and extract data. AUTOMATIC REPORTS AIO’s CMS automatic reporting module has been designed to meet almost any need and require- ment of Telcos. The system is highly compatible and data can be exported to Excel, CSV, PDF, HTML and more. Reports are extremely flexible, and can be filtered and cross-sectioned by any parameter in the system, and can be run on any level in the navigation hierarchy. Reports can be generated on demand, or automatically based on any pre-defined schedule. In order to secure the data, access to reports can be strictly controlled by any permission configuration. Reports can be cleanly separated between different tenants, and access to system level reports can be controlled by role. Detailed Asset Management The Asset Management module provides detailed digital management of assets at any level in the navigation hierarchy.
  • 10. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 9 PRECISE SITE INVENTORY AND COMPREHENSIVE EQUIPMENT DATA The site map provides an instant visual picture of assets installed at the site such as genera- tors, fuel tanks, shelters, air-conditioners and more. By clicking on any asset, will open an infor- mative pop-up menu, displaying full asset details including its online status, full manufacturer information, maintenance details (refer to Preventive Maintenance) and even real pictures of each piece of equipment. The site controller automatically detects any new equipment that is connected or disconnected, and reports it to the CMS. This makes it easy to manage addition or removal of equipment, and transfer of equipment from one site to another. COMPLETE VENDOR INFORMATION AND CLEAR AUDIT REPORTS In addition to information on equipment, the CMS provides detailed information on the equip- ment’s vendor. It includes full company details, contract period, SLA information and more. Being able to compare performance with contractual agreements at a resolution that goes down to each piece of equipment, gives the TMC powerful tools to enforce SLA and negotiate future contracts. With the ability to fully analyze data, the CMS can provide clear audit reports based on any parameter from equipment type to specific tenant. This includes CAPEX calculations for a new rollout, or OPEX for a legacy contract. Reports can be run across any cross section or via any filter. The function includes producing annual financial reports quickly and efficiently. ASSET TAGGING AND TRACKING AIO Systems offers a mobile application that can track assets based on different mobile tags such as QR codes, barcodes, RFID, active tags and more. QR codes are generated per equipment type, and through smart management of codes, a complete inventory of assets can be present- ed per tenant on site. These same tags are used by the mobile application to track assets and collect accurate data that allows better control over inventory. Comprehensive Preventative Maintenance The Preventive Maintenance mod- ule complements the Asset Manage- ment module. It is able to manage all the technical specifications per asset included in the CMS, for effec- tive preventative maintenance.
  • 11. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 10 This enables the TMC to manage their workforce efficiently by sending technicians with the right skills and equipment to sites needing maintenance in a timely manner. MANAGING MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES AND PROCEDURES The CMS maintains a wealth of maintenance information. This includes a full description of maintenance procedures and associated costs, equipment location along with GIS coordinates (Lat/Lon), laboratory reports, special remarks and more. Maintenance history as well as up- coming maintenance are also available. Since all regular costs are configured into the system, and unpredictable costs can be updated on the spot, the CMS is able to automatically generate accurate maintenance costs for financial reports, such as P&L at any time. MOBILE APPLICATION The same mobile application used for asset tracking is also used during site maintenance. Using the different asset tags placed on each piece of equipment, the maintenance technician can get instant access to complete, up-to-date equipment data and maintenance procedures, and can update the maintenance log on the spot (including unexpected costs). MAINTENANCE DASHBOARD Through the flexibility of the CMS dashboard, a maintenance manager can configure the system to display the most relevant information he is interested in. Since the CMS is updated in real time, it provides complete up-to-the-minute asset information and maintenance status helping the manager make good decisions to optimize both MTTR and MTBF. Across The Board Financial Analysis The CMS provides a full range of de- tailed reports at the click of a button to give a clear finan- cial picture at any level of operation. The variety of re- ports includes P&L, CAPEX and OPEX, and can be filtered or cross-sectioned per tenant, site, region and cluster, or run globally for the whole network. The flexible reporting capabilities can even consider items with fluctuating costs such as fuel and electricity, as well as depreciation of equipment over time. With detailed financial reports TMCs can prove cost SLA compliance to customers, and negotiate better SLAs from suppliers.
  • 12. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 11 B2B Customer Supplier Portal The Customer/Supplier Portal uses a set of permissions that only allow access to data that each customer and supplier is authorized to see when they log into the system. Tenants can only see equipment belonging to them specifically (e.g. shelter, battery, DC supply) and common shared equipment such as generators , AC supply and air-conditioners. Suppliers will only have access to equipment they are contracted to service, as well as relevant maintenance tasks, faults and alerts. The Customer/Supplier Portal can be an effective sales tool by displaying to customers additional available sites at which they can contract tenancy. Enhanced GIS Module The GIS Module pro- vides a map-based view of site status based on any set of parameters. Indicators: STATUS: Displays all sites on the selected energy source type, or all sites that are discon- nected from the power; ASSET TYPE & CONFIGURATION: Displays all sites by equipment type, e.g. generator; PERFORMANCE LAYERS & ALERTS: Displays all sites according alert type / performance configuration, e.g. power / temperature alert; Since all sites and equipment can be accurately located by GPS coordinates, the GIS module can provide these coordinates to navigation applications for efficient routing to sites, and can also track assets being transferred between sites while they are in transit. The same flexible permis- sion system described for the Customer/Supplier portal ensures that tenants and suppliers can see only sites and equipment, which they are authorized to, on the map.
  • 13. WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD WHITE PAPER © AIO SYSTEMS LTD PAGE 12 Flexible User Administration The User Administration module is what gives the CMS its high degree of flexibility with the abil- ity to provide a customized experience for each user. It is through this module that the system administrator configures things like summary dashboards and reports customized for different roles in the organization (e.g. CFO or Operations Manager). SYSTEM ROLLOUT AND ADMINISTRATOR AUTONOMY During system roll- out, AIO Systems works with the ad- ministrator to set up and configure the system with a wide variety of param- eters. For example, users and associated access privileges, regions and navigation hierarchy, different sites, alerts types, thresholds and severity, variable costs per region (e.g. fuel and electricity), maintenance schedules, reports and much more. Fully Integrated AIO Cloud Services & Customer-Owned CMS In addition to the standard AIO customer profile, where the CMS is owned and operated by the customer, AIO Systems offers the CMS as a cloud service that is extremely beneficial to the customer. By outsourcing AIO’S Hardware and CMS Services, companies can reduce initial costs and then scale up easily without having to invest in an expensive infrastructure. Processes are streamlined as more things get done by fewer people, and the need to train personnel on a new system is reduced. AIO Systems offers the CMS as a cloud service in two modes, namely: Cloud CMS and Cloud NOC. CUSTOMER-OWNED CMS The customer-owned CMS, the TMC integrates the CMS into the company’s network infrastruc- ture. This gives the TMC total control over data and the TMC subsequently manages the system according to company’s operating re- quirements.
