An Italian regional transportation company uses 1000 Onyx Beacon devices to guide and inform all its passengers, to assist the visually impaired to independently access the right vehicles and to apply instant satisfaction surveys and another customer-based studies.
SASA company provides 22 million travels every year in Bolzano region (South Tirol, Northern Italy, near Austrian border), and has already installed Bluetooth beacons in all its 160 vehicles and all its bus stops, to cover all the perimeter of contact with the customers. All the functions are provided by a dedicated mobile application.
This project is developed by Raiffeisen Online, a division of Raiffeisen Bank and regional partner of Onyx Beacon in Northern Italy and Austria.

SASA is a public transportation company activating in the Merano - Bolzano
region in South Tyrol (Northern Italy). SASA administrates a fleet of 160
buses and provides more than 22 million individual travels every year.

complex infrastructure of Beacon Bluetooth
devices, placed in vehicles and in bus stops.
Users who download the app on their mobile

information and have access to a customer-
oriented interface available 24/7.

The application works as a kind of digital compass for passengers.
By line selection and other parameters configuration, each passenger can
configure the app, so that it only receives information that he really wants.

The SASA satisfaction survey
is now conducted immediately through the
mobile application.
Any passenger who has downloaded the
SASAbusAPP on his mobile phone can at
any time give its feedback on the quality of
the service, by using a scale from 1 to 10.
Customers can evaluate the safety,
the bus ride, the friendliness of the
personnel, the ease of access and exit,
and the congestion degree of the buses.

The visually impaired passengers in Bolzano and Merano have a dedicated
module on the application, which guides them and offers accessibility
to the transportation system and vehicles.
They will use on cell phones a screen reader feature, to get
the information delivered through text notifications.
This helps them to find the right stop and go into the right bus.
