In line with the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF), the Asean Qualifications
Reference Framework (AQRF)and the Revised Policies, Standards and Guidelines for the
Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) Program, the Board for Librarians would
like to conduct a consultative workshop for the adoption and prescription of a National
Competency-based Standards for Librarians (NCBSL) using as the frame of reference Dr.
Numeriana M. Villareal’s dissertation entitled, A Proposed Competency-based Standards for
Librarians (please see attachments).Dr. Villareal is one of our PRC Outstanding Professional
Librarians.
