  2. QUESTION: HYPOTHESIS: How do I design a presentation that will get a prospect to say "yes"? Successful, compelling presentations all have the same common elements.   3. PERIODIC ELEMENTS OF A SUCCESSFUL SALES PRESENTATION Combine these elements to create the formula for a compelling sales presentation. It's not rocket science!* * Not an actual quote from Albert Einstein.
  4. OPENING SLIDE First impressions are made within of meeting someone. 5 MINUTES Your first slide is the equivalent of your presentation's first impression. Capture your audience's attention with a killer opening slide. TIP: Use eye-catching visuals, concise language or music to open up your presentation in order to draw your audience in.
  5. STORY LINE Your presentation should tell a story with your prospect as the main character. Develop your story through these elements: PLOTBegin with a thesis and support it with data. SETTING CHARACTERS CONFLICT CONCLUSION Set the stage with an overview of your message. Who's involved & describe their impact. What is the barrier standing in the way of a perfect solution? Provide actionable tasks that will lead to your characters' perfect solution.
  6. UNLEASH THE DATA TOULMIN METHOD OF ARGUMENTATION A tried and true method to establish credibility during your presentation is to use data. Use the popular Toulmin method, created by British philosopher Stephen Toulmin, to get your point across. The method states that several examples of evidence (or data) are required to establish the validation of an argument and subsequent conclusion.
