The Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA) provides animal control services to three cities and operates an animal care center that rehabilitates injured animals. Its goals are to enforce animal laws, investigate cruelty, educate the public, and place all adoptable animals. The SVACA adoption program is open to the Bay Area community and involves holding animals for 10 days before evaluating, vaccinating, microchipping, and placing them up for adoption. The SVACA Animal Assistance Fund helps pay for veterinary care like for a dog found with infected ears in need of treatment to make it suitable for adoption.
