  6. 6. Emergency Supply Kit <ul><li>Three days worth of supplies </li></ul><ul><li>Additional supplies for up to two weeks in your home </li></ul><ul><li>What supplies should you include in your emergency supply kit? </li></ul>
  7. 7. Some Key Items to Include: <ul><li>Water </li></ul><ul><li>Food </li></ul><ul><li>Crank or battery-powered radio </li></ul><ul><li>Flashlight (and batteries) </li></ul><ul><li>First Aid kit and medical supplies </li></ul><ul><li>Copies of important papers </li></ul>

Check your Kit Regularly <ul><li>Check your kit every six months to ensure it still meets your family’s needs </li></ul><ul><li>Rotate the food and water out of your kit into your normal food supply and replace with fresh supplies </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure all copies are still current </li></ul>

Designate an Out-of-Town Contact <ul><li>It may be easier to contact someone who lives outside the affected area </li></ul><ul><li>That person can relay messages between those in the affected area </li></ul><ul><li>Texting may also work for delivering emergency messages, but you should still maintain an out-of-town contact </li></ul>
  13. 13. Practice Your Plan <ul><li>Practice your household’s evacuation plan twice each year </li></ul><ul><li>Practice at different times, day or night </li></ul><ul><li>Practicing will show if changes are needed </li></ul>
