The hotel is located in an historical building from the
19th century that originally belonged to the Marquis
of Alhama. Before it was turned into a hotel, this his-
toric building housed several large apartments, be-
sides a famous bookshop known as El Padrino who-
se façade and original letters have been preserved.
Carlos Hernández-Carrillo, a well-known architect
especialised in this type of projects was in charge of
refurbishing the hotel.
The decoration bears the hallmark of the prestigious
interior designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán, who has crea-
ted a welcoming, warm and sophisticated space that
reinterprets in a modern, elegant and pleasant man-
ner the style of the Spanish Colonies and the Me-
diterranean. Visitors experience a new concept that
combines the city’s authentic, traditional architectu-
re with up-to-date design and technology.

on a blend of authentic traditional cuisine from Ma-
drid and surprising modern touches with a menu
designed by chef Carlos Martín, who trained in

Roca and Mugaritz.
