Practise yoga in the morning on an empty stomach after your daily
ablutions. It is always better to do yoga in an open space in the ter
race, verandah or lawn. Make sure to spread the yoga mat on an even
surface to get the right postures.
Face the north or east direction while practising yoga.
Keep your mind calm and happy and refrain from anger or irritation.
Do not let tension appear on the nerves, nose, ears, neck and eyes
during the exercise. Take into consideration your age, physical and
mental condition, flexibility, capacity, environment and time.

Do not practise yoga when you have fever, a severe cough and cold.
Do not practise yoga in haste and avoid force and jolts of any kind.
Give a break of at least half an hour between your yoga session and a
bath. You can drink water af ter 15-20 minutes. Keep the water in your
mouth for a minute before gulping it down. You should eat after half an
hour.
If needed, yoga can be done twice a day. Always start by chanting
`Aum'.
