Students will be able to create an animated 
comic using the Scratch interface. 
• Enable – Students will be able to create a 
simple program to switch backgrounds 
• Engage – Students will be able to add 
characters or Sprites 
• Empower – Students will be able to add 
captions or speech bubbles

So Let’s Go!

The steps needed to import the scenes 
into Scratch 
Step one: Click on the Stage icon 
Step two: Click the background tab 
Step three: Click import new background 
Step four: Locate the scenes in your 
folder 
Step five: Click ‘OK’ and repeat these 
steps

Add a character to your comic 
By clicking the Sprite area we can add 
new characters into our comic 
Step one: Go to the new sprite section 
Step two: Click choose new sprite from 
file 
Step three: Click the fantasy folder 
Step four: Find the witch sprite 
Step five: Click ‘OK’
