1. Project of critical reflection.
The pandemic that happened around the world, radically changed the way people find the
satisfaction of their work, the above changes the leadership that must be developed and integrated
with the differentiators for each of the participants.
In my experience, tourism and especially hospitality, suffered a lot and the consequence was layoffs
for not being able to pay their salaries, in Mexico most people have an income of less than $ 6,000,
and they are paid with tips, my experience after the pandemic is that employees expect to receive
much more money without the need to work as they did before the pandemic, It is for the simple
reason that they feel that they are victims of layoffs caused by the pandemic, many of those who
previously worked in the hospitality industry no longer returned to the tourism industry, and those
who return feel with the ability to feel special and hurt by the fall of an industry that was affected
in every way by the pandemic, This leads to bad attitudes and without the sense of belonging to
their jobs because they feel that at the time they did not support enough to overcome this difficult
situation.
We find staff who always seek their own common good the rules of conduct that do not matter to
them and usually have a harsh language in writing, spoken or corporal and that in the tourism
industry is affecting our common good that is the people who pay money to spend a spectacular
vacation.
Theme
The leadership developed in the previous reading is to always and in any circumstance, to be
OBJECTIVE, not to bring prejudices to the team, the above implies not developing comparisons
between those who are and those who were before the pandemic.
Being POSITIVE, releasing the differences of personalities and adapting them to an empathic
measure that the whole team develops, the search for the above is the COMMON GOOD, but what
is this? The common good is the satisfaction of our consumer customer, who has been our
COMMON GOOD.
TOLERANCE, and patience is the key to understanding what our team needs, listening daily and
coming back with feedback is what will make us continuously improve every day.
