Dobrogea wind turbines will change the
rules in the transportation of energy
Electricity production may be too high to network capacity, experts
warned at a conference "Forbes".
Maximum power input that could be obtained only from wind turbines installed in Dobrogea is
estimated at 8 GW, while the total transport capacity for this type of energy is only 4 GW. In
addition, from Dobrogea energy cannot be exported to the south (Bulgaria), east (Black Sea) or
north (Republic of Moldova or Ukraine), so that producers there are left with the only alternative
delivery to Romania, a country that is so supersaturated.
All this happens while from Dobrogea to Romania there are only few "wires" that pass electricity
across the Danube. This alarm was pulled by the Director for Energy and Resources of the
consulting company Deloitte, who attended the conference "What is myth and what is reality as the
idea that renewable energy is one of the most profitable investment in crisis", organized by the
magazine "Forbes".

Transelectrica, under pressure
"Dobrogea is a ‘hot zone’ for Transelectrica. The transport operator was already under intense
pressure to strengthen the network to allow secure connection of further 2 Cernavodă NPPs.
Making a transmission lines across the Danube is already a technical challenge, after resolving legal
challenges related to securing the necessary land and approval of such investments. Of course, it is
necessary to overcome financial challenges related to such investment for a company listed on the
stock market and state controlled", said, in one study, the consultant of Deloitte.
4 GW is a total transport capacity for wind power energy in Romania.
