Today Kathy can not wait for Tony because she just received a message from her mother telling her to get home as soon as class is over because they have to go visit her grandmother who is sick. Kathy does not have enough time to find Tony to let him know about the situation. When Kathy is done with school she finds a group of girlfriends to walk home with, thinking that she could explain herself to Tony better if she is seen with her girlfriends instead alone. Before Tony is done with basketball practice, he has already been made aware that Kathy has left without him and during the last half of practice all he can think about is “what is she doing?” Once he is done with practice he attempts to call her at home but, no one answers. Not knowing where she was made him angry. And his friends did not help the matter when they start making fun of him and insinuated that Kathy was with another guy. The next day, Tony was in the hallway with his team mates as Kathy walked by. Tony immediately ran towards her and pushed her against the lockers, holding her by the neck, asking who she was with yesterday.
