Congress Avenue
In Krakow wepromotethinking about congresses in
terms of „legacy”- webelieve that they are not an
episode in the life of the city, but have the potential
to positively affectthe local community.
Since 2017, importantinternational congresses
havebeen commemorated with trees planted in
Congress Avenue.Thefirsttree was planted during
the 41stsession of the UNESCO Committee, while
the 36th tree, planted rightnext to ICEKrakow,
commemorates the 61stICCA Congress. Thetree
planting ceremony was attended by representatives
of the city, authorities of the ICCA association and
the Polish Tourism Organization.
The Congress Avenuetrees are a kind of sculptures
and a thank you to the organizersthatthey chose
Krakow to hosttheir event. They also symbolizethe
approach to the organization of the event itself - in
the spirit of sustainable development and is also
one of the ideological pillars of the ICCA
association.

frontlines themselves. Since the beginning of the
war, many Ukrainian citizens havebeen stripped of
their own belongings and are now in a difficult
financial situation. By taking partin the CSR activity,
participants wereable to help sortdonated clothing

CleaningUnique Green Sites:
LibanQuarry
LIBAN cleaned up - the largest group took part
in the cleanup of the LIBAN Quarry, the site of a
former Nazi forced laborcamp.The site,
neglected for years, was once used by Steven
Spielberg's crew to filmsome of the most iconic
scenes of Schindler's List. Delegates were
divided into two groups:the first cleaned up the
trash inside the quarry, while another cleaned
up the site of the former PlaszowKL camp.
Participantsin the action were accompanied by
city guides,who introduced the historyofthis
unique place. The cleaned up area is
undoubtedlythe immediate and visible effect of
the action, while the place itselfand its history
were also an opportunityfor deeper reflection
and learningabout the darker pages of the city's
history.“

Gifts for Kraków’s Senior
Residents
The last group took part in a Polish
handicraftsworkshop.Under the guidance
of a local artist, they made brooches
inspired by Krakow'scostumes,and also
wrote greeting cardsfor seniors. To do so,
the delegates took part in an express Polish
language lesson, led by Aneta from PCB,
which was the biggest challenge of the
event (and perhaps of the entire congress).
The list of beneficiaries included residents
of a senior care home in Krakow. The
Ludwik and Anna Helcl Nursing Home in
Krakow has been in existence for 124
years, consistentlyserving people in need
of help throughoutthattime.

12. Out Of The Box Sessions
No. 1: Sky Full of Emotions
2022 ICCA Congress SUMMARY –YouTube
In order to enrich the congress programwith high-
quality, locally important topics, we organized two
so-called "out of the box" sessions. They were
intended to bring delegates closer to specific issues,
to inspire, to give them the opportunity to meet
experts in a particular field, to interact with them.
SessionNo. 1: Sky Full of Emotions: Passion,
knowledge, experience - SebastianKawa, world
champion in gliding talked aboutflying, his first
competitions, wins and losses, safety and taking
necessary risks. Thehistory of gliding and the
personalexperiences of the world's bestglider pilot
were meant to encouragepeople to look for
unobvious solutions in their professionallives. The
session took place in the main building of the Polish
Aviation Museum, which impresses with its bold
and avant-gardeform, and additionally perfectly
related to the theme of the session.
13. Out Of The Box Sessions
No.2: Make the change together
Following the theme of the congress, weoffered
delegates a meeting with the Diversity Hubteam-
experts in the field of inclusivity. The organized
workshop session was primarily aimed at engaging
participants and sensitizing them to the issue of
equal opportunities in the area of event design and
implementation.
The main idea was to travel through the various
dimensions of DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) in
the context of the 4P formula: People, Place, Planet
& Process.
After an introduction to the topic, participants
chose moderated or quiz stations to join to explore
particular aspects of the topic and add their own
ideas and reflections.
Participants'reflections are expected to help
develop a sector-widedeclarationthatwill be a
lasting legacy of the congress.

Congress in the city space
In order to inform the residents that an important
international event is taking place in their city and
generate interestin the congress theme, you need
to make it visible! That's what we did in November -
flags with congress branding werehung in the Main
Square, giving oportunity to take photos; congress
posters also appeared at bus stops, ticket vending
machines and Bus Tv.
Throughoutthe month, the congress was
accompanied by KCB's own exhibition aboutthe
history of business meetings in Krakow, which dates
back to the 14th century. There wereinteresting
facts about the firstcongress held in the capital of
Malopolska in 1859, the UNESCO Congress that was
extremely importantfor the city, or the OWHC
Session. The 61stICCA Congress also joined the
ranks of events that have become a permanent part
of the city's history!
