Zero waste was originally a concept brought to small towns in New Zealand that encourages redesigning products to be reusable and reducing waste. Some ways to achieve zero waste include using soap bars and dishwashers instead of liquid soaps and detergents, repurposing materials like glass, cardboard and paper, and following the 5 Rs of reduce, reuse, recycle, rot, and rethink our consumption habits as convenience should not come at the expense of the environment.
