Macam-Macam Energi
Energi :
Adalah kemampuan untuk melakukan usaha.
Energi bersifat abstrak yang sukar dibuktikan tetapi dapat
dirasakan adanya
Menurut hukum Termodinamika Pertama :
Energi bersifat kekal. Energi tidak dapat diciptakan dan
tidak dapat dimusnakan, tetapi dapat berubah bentuk
(konversi) dari bentuk energi yang satu ke bentuk energi
yang lain.

Macam-Macam Energi
Energi Potensial Merupakan energi karena posisinya di tempat yang
tinggi. Contohnya air waduk di pegunungan dapat dikonversi menjadi
energi mekanik untuk memutar turbin, selanjutnya dikonversi lagi
menjadi energi listrik

Energi Kinetik Merupakan energi yang dimiliki oleh suatu benda karena
gerak yang dilakukan atau dialaminya. semua benda yang bergerak, sudah
pasti memiliki energi kinetik. Energi kinetik dipengaruhi oleh massa dan
kecepatan suatu benda saat bergerak.

Macam-Macam Energi
Energi mekanik merupakan energi gerak, missal turbin air akan
mengubah energi potensial menjadi energi mekanik untuk memutar
generator listrik
EM = Ek + EP
EM = Energi Mekanik (J)
Ek = Energi Kinetik (J)
EP = Energi Potensial (J)

Energi mekanik = Energi Kinetik + Energi Potensial

Macam-Macam Energi
Energi Listrik adalah energi yang
berkaitan dengan arus elektron,
dinyatakan dalam watt-jam atau
kilo watt-jam.
Energi termal adalah bentuk energi dasar
dengan kata lain, semua bentuk energi dapat
dikonversi secara penuh ke energi ini. Energi ini
berkaitan dengan getaran atom dan molekular.

Macam-Macam Energi
Energi elektromagnetik merupakan bentuk energi yang berkaitan
dengan radiasielektromagnetik.
Energi kimia merupakan energi yang keluar sebagai hasil interaksi
elektrondimana dua atau lebih atom/molekul berkombinasi sehingga
menghasilkan senyawa kimia yang stabil. Energi kimia hanya dapat terjadi
dalam bentuk energi tersimpan.
Energi nuklir adalah energi dalam bentuk energi tersimpan yang
dapat dilepas akibat interaksi partikel dengan atau di dalam inti
atom.
Energi angin merupakan energi yang tidak akan habis, material
utama berupaangin dengan kecepatan tertentu yang mengenai
turbin angin sehingga menjadi gerak mekanik dan listrik.

Motor Bakar
Motor bakar adalah mesin atau pesawat yang mengubah
energi kimia dari bahan bakar menjadi energi Mekanik
pada gerakan naik turun piston. Dimana energi kimia dari
bahan bakar tersebut menghasilkan energi panas dan
menggunakan energi tersebut untuk melakukan kerja
mekanik.
Jika ditinjau dari cara memperoleh energi termal ini (proses
pembakaran bahan bakar), maka motor bakar dapat dibagi
menjadi 2 golongan yaitu: motor pembakaran luar dan
motor pembakaran dalam.

Motor Bakar
Motor pembakaran luar (external Combustion Engine)
Pada motor pembakaran luar ini, proses pembakaran bahan bakar terjadi
di luar mesin itu, sehingga untuk melaksanakan pembakaran digunakan
mesin tersendiri. Panas dari hasil pembakaran bahan bakar tidak langsung
diubah menjadi tenaga gerak, tetapi terlebih dulu melalui media
penghantar, baru kemudian diubah menjadi tenaga mekanik. Misalnya
pada ketel uap dan turbin uap.
Motor pembakaran dalam (Internal Combustion Engine) Pada motor
pembakaran dalam, proses pembakaran bahan bakar terjadi di dalam
mesin itu sendiri, sehingga panas dari hasil pembakaran langsung bisa
diubah menjadi tenaga mekanik. Misalnya : pada turbin gas, motor bakar
torak dan mesin propulasi pancar gas.
