  2. B) SOUTH INDIA STUDY TOUR. Firstly, Banana plantation in Gundulpet.  In gundlupete we went for Farmer who grown Banana, dragon fruit and rose apple .  I observed that Banana grown by ratoon for 7 years has taken resistance for disease, pests and lodging problems. Secondly, Banana research centre, Trichy.  Here Scientist K.N.Shivan gave suffiecent information on Banana cultivation and their pest, disease management.  I also observed the plantation was so good maintained, without the pest and disease attack for the germplasm they maintained.  They were also working on Pest management and resistance for rhizome weevil in banana.  They were using crop management practices as Bio agents, bunch sprays and bunch cover for better quality banana.
  3. TNAU, Tamil nadu.  Here we went for Horticulture section and we met Asst. Prof of Fruit science Dr.Veda and she took us for the field in the campus.  In the field , I observed on Mango and sapota mainly.  Mango they practiced UHDP for more yield, but there training and pruning was the major operation, and after pruning Boredaux paste should be pasted for crop protection.  In Sapota observed for Inarch grafting, so while grating should take care about pest affected rootstocks Or scion plant, it may cause for secondary infections after it’s growth.

  5. PKKVK, Pondicherry. In this Krishivigyan kendra mainly worked on Rice, sugarcane and animal husbandry. Here Rice breeder Dr. Narsimman he gave his lecture on Rice hybrids and crop protection. And also went for Biocontrol laboratory, there I know about Trico cards, and bo agents like ( Pseudomonas, trichoderma, Metarhizium, Beauveria, Isaria etc..) And also about Nucleo poly hedrosis viruses(NPV) against Helicoverpa armigera and Leucanate pheromone for Brinjal shoot and fruit Borer.
  6. Govt. Museum Chennai  This Museum has five sections and each sections are so well maintained and disciplined.  In third section that is Biology section I have observed collections of some animals, insects and snakes etc.  In Insect bolck there are some beautiful collections of insects, They have classified according to classification of insects and made display for the people to get knowledge about that. UHS, BAGALKOT Firstly , Horticulture extension and research Center, Tidugundi .  Here Dr. Gonagai explained about the crops grown and research going on arid crops mainly.  He told about Crop regulation for pomegranate to control or decrease the pests attack during rainy season, so after this season we can get a good quality fruits.

University Campus, Bagalkote.  Here we went for Grape orchard to know about it, so here also collected some knowledge of grape cultivation and pruning practices.  At the time of pruning they used to apply bordeux paste, dormex, mancozeb and sprouting enhncer for early yield and quality fruits. College of Horticulture, Mudigere.  We observed the campus first and at last Entomology lecturer taken to his lab, he showed some specimens collected from students  And also he gave some information on coffee stem borers, stick and leaf insects, which are available mainly in malnad areas.  Then i observed the collection in lab and the charts they have made was nice and attractive for me.
