Most mountains are formed when the plates push
together, forcing the land into fold mountains.
This is why mountains often are in long lines, or ranges.
When air is blown from the sea onto a mountain
range it forces it to rise.
3. Mountains Levels
When higher up a mountain you go, the colder it gets.
Because the higher air is thinner, so it can store less
heat.
4. Animals
Few species live on the windy peaks
Mountain goats and sheep graze live on the grassy rocky
slopes.
Below the grassy rocky slopes , there is a tree line, it is
warm enough for trees to grow.
5. Adaptation
Mountain species are adapted to surviving in cold
temperatures and strong winds.
Mountain plants grow close to the ground and have deep
roots.
Mountains animals have large lungs for extracting
enough oxygen from the air.
