windows phone 8 you have to update your
software to avail this feature.

2. Choose “Settings” from App list

3. Here you will find two section, system and application.
Make sure that you are viewing the System section. To
set a custom background TAP “start+theme”

4. Under Start Background section TAP “choose
photo” button. You could see a grey back
ground next to the button implies that there is
no start background.

5. Your phone will redirect you to the gallery
app from where you have to choose
background image for start screen. You may
choose an image from your own photos or
an image that comes with the phones
background folder. If your selected picture is
very big then you have to crop it.

7. After setting the background, go back to
start screen to see the effect. When you
will set a start screen background it will
override system default theme color for
the tiles. In few interfaces you can still see
the color. The apps having slide colors in
background may not be affected by the
change you made. You can’t change them
by any means.

9. Follow the steps to remove this
background. Settings -> start +
them -> Start Background ->
Remove. Immediately you will see
the effect.
