My name is Ryan Rey Y. Presores. I was born on
October 06,1994.
I'm a third year student taking up Bachelor in
Elementary Education(BEEd III-B). At (CTU) Cebu
Technological University.
Educational Technology is a field of
study which is concerned with the practice
of using educational methods and
resources for the ultimate goal of
facilitating the learning process.
Educational Technology is taught in
school for the learners to come up easily in
the modern world. In this subject, the students
can learn how they can use technology to
have a better learning. It is one of the best
way to integrate learning and information to
ourselves.
It one of the terms associated with
educational technology. It is a application
of technology to any of those processes
involved operating the instructions which
house the educational enterprise
 Edgar Dale (1900-1985) was an
American educationist who
developed the Cone of
Experience.
 He several contributions to
audio and visual instruction,
including a methodology for
analyzing the content of motion
picture.
 Born and raised in North
Dakota, he received a B.A. and
M.A. from the University of
North Dakota and a Ph.D. from
the University of Chicago.
“The Cone is a visual
analogy and like all
analogies it does not
bear an exact and
detailed relationship to
complex elements it
represents”
Meaningfulness- it contains purposive activities.
Purpose- it must be focused on helping learners to
motivate them in learning process.
Appropriateness- it should be appropriate to .the level
intended terms of: vocabulary, difficult concept, methods
of development and interest.
Breadth- it encompasses all around development of
varying group of learners.
Usefulness/Utility- audiovisual aid must help the
teacher to deliver the subject matter in a better way.
Communication Effectiveness- relay information
clearly and effectively.
Authenticity- presents accurate up to date dependable
information.
Responsiveness- must be responsive to the needs and
demands of society.
Interest- catch the interest of the users, simulate
curiosity or satisfy the need to know and encourage
creativity.
Cost Effectiveness- the cost per student of media
presentation diminishes as the number of students
using it increases.
Presentation- must be presented at the right time and
at the right place.
Portability- it must be handy by the teachers and the
students
handle it well.
Correctness- correct facts and information must be in
the materials for a better learning.
Simplicity- simple but inspiring for the learners.
Assessment-evaluating the technology is needed for
further revisions
There are five domains of education
technology. These are the design, development,
utilization, evaluation and management. We should
considered these domains to create an effective
instructional materials for the learners. To know if
you need to improve your materials and revise it to
an effective one.
It is the use of technologies to
introduce, reinforce supplement and extent
skills. The quality of instruction is improved
into a high level.
It can provide opportunities to respond
to instructional issues/problem.
Information Technology is transmitting,
sharing, comprehend knowledge through the use of
technology.
The focus of ICT is the instructional medias
that the learners and teachers can use to acquire
learning and information about a specific lesson.
Hypermedia is a multimedia. It is a educational
computer software where information is shown and
student activities are integrated in a virtual learning
environment.
In using hypermedia, you can get the learners'
attention, recall prior learning, guide and access the
learning and performance of the student.
The goverment cannot provide the appropriate
number of computers. The cooperative learning will be
the answer to the implementation of IT in schools. In a
way that the students can use one computer by 2-3
students.
Coopertive Learning is a leraning by small group
of students who work together in a particular task.
Computer can be a tutor in a way that it
can be used in facilitate the learning process of
the student. Student can follow easily the flow of
the discussion of a teacher when they are using
computer/technologies.
The computer is just a guide for the
student to be more knowledgable in a specific
topic.
The teacher can employ the computer as
information tool, communocation tool, constructive
tool, co-constructive tool and situating tool.
The computer can provide access information,
foster creative social knowldege building , and enhance
the communication. Also it can help the teachers and
students to focus on more high level cognitive tasks.
Traditional Learning
Model
•Teachers is expert and
information provider
•Textbook is key source of
information
•Focus on facts information is
packaged in neat parcels
•The product is the be-all and
end-all of learning
•Assessment is quantitative
Resource-Based
Learning Model
•Teacher is a guidance and
facilitator
•Source are varied (Print, video,
internet, etc.)
•Focus on learning inquiry quest
discovery
•Emphasis of process
•Assessment is quantitative and
qualitative
Meaningful
Learning
Discovery
Learning
Generative
Learning
Constructivism
Meaningful Learning
Gives focus to new experience that departs from the learning of a
sequence of words but gives attention to meaning.
Discovery Learning
Ideas are presented to students in a well organized way, such as through
detailed set of instructions to complete an experiment.
Students perform tasks to uncover what is to be learned. New ideas and new
decisions are generated in the learning process, regardless of the need to move and
depart from the structured lesson previously set.
Generative Learning
Here, we have active listeners who attend to learning events and generates
meaning from this experience and draw inferences thereby creating a personal
model of explanation to the new experience in the context of existing knowledge.
This is viewed as different from the simple process of storing information.
Motivation and Responsibility are crucial to this domain of learning.
Constructivism
Here, the learner builds personal understanding through appropriate
learning activities and a good learning environment.
The learner is directly responsible for learning. He creates personal understanding
and transforms it into knowledge.
There are many reasons why
educational technology is very important.
There is a purpose why educational
technology is taught in schools. Because
educational technology 1 and 2 wants the
student to know what is the use and how to
use the instructional media in relation to
education/teaching.
Using instructional material is an
effective way of engaging the students to the
real world situation. Nowadays, the teahers are
discussing their lesson with the use of
instructional medias . Also, based on
observation, the technology help us to have a
better learning. We can easily understand and
receive the information.
A future educator must know the
know the right use of instructional medias
so that the computer will never replace the
teacher. The teacher must be the one who
will manipulate the computer, it is just a
material that will help the teacher and the
student to be more connected to one
another.
The technology will also help the teacher
to easily give chances to the students that can
excel in class by applying medias/computers in
their learning process. There are instances that
student is actively participating in the class
when they are engage in using technology. In
other words, the technology has a big role in
the field of learning.
Today, the students are called the 21st
century learners. When we say 21st century
learners the students are living in a modern
world who are using end encountered
technology in their everyday life. They are
individuals that can use technologies in
good way to have a better learning.
• apply technology to their lives effectively, in a way
they can use it to learn better.
• what is the importance of educational technology
• know what is the purpose of the educational
technology
• make instructional material that is connected to a
particular topic
• know the right way of using technology
• know the limitations of using technology
