1. EVALUATION
How did I use new media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation
stages?

2. RESEARCH
During research I used the world wide web 2.0
platform, Youtube, and search engines such as
Google and Bing.
As a part of my research I analysed the differences
between the feature length and teaser versions of
two horror trailers, ‘Silent Hill’ and ‘The Omen’,
comparing key content and techniques as well as
trailer length and its affect on the over all trailer.
In order to display and explain my
analysis I was able to embed the videos
onto my blog so as to allow easier
comparison between videos and notes.

3. EMBEDDING VIDEOS To embed it I found
the video I wanted,
clicked ‘share’on
the bottom of the
video, copied the
http address in the
box and selected
embed.
Next I went to my
blog post, selected
‘Edit Html’ then
pasted the http
address into the
box. Now publish
post and now the
video is
embedded.

4. PLANNING
During the planning stages of my project I posted thoughts and relevant
research onto my blog via ‘Blogger’. As well as just adding written posts
to my wall some parts of my planning were done on Powerpoint, therefore
I uploaded it to my blog using slide share. This is done the same way as
youtube videos, by embedding them.
This new media technology gas allowed me to display my work and
progress throughout this course in an easily accessible place. In turn this
has helped me to share and develop my work amongst my other students
in my class.
Slideshare, as well
as Youtube and
blogger, are all part
of the web 2.0
media platform.

5. EVALUATION
Another new media technology I have used is the social
networking site, Facebook. I used this site to get my
video out to a wider audience in order to get a better
range of feedback on my coursework.
By using Facebook I have been able to bring my trailer
to the attention of a wider audience of people who may
not have come across it on Youtube.
