GLOSSARY
Terminologies Used
• 4G - 4G, short for fourth generation, is the fourth generation of mobile telecommunications technology,
succeeding 3G and preceding 5G. A 4G system, in addition to the usual voice and other services of 3G,
provides mobile broadband Internet access, for example to laptops with wireless modems, to
Smartphone's, and to other mobile devices. Potential and current applications include amended mobile
web access, IP telephony, gaming services, high-definition mobile TV, video conferencing, 3D television,
and cloud computing.
• MP or Mega Pixel - In digital imaging, a pixel, or picture element the smallest addressable element of a
picture represented on the screen. Megapixel means one million pixels. The resolution of digital cameras
and camera phones is often measured in megapixels. For example, a 5-megapixel camera can produce
images with five million total pixels. Higher pixel in a photograph will be of better quality and clarity.
• BSI Sensor - A back-illuminated sensor, also known as backside illumination (BSI or BI) sensor, is a type of
digital image sensor that uses a novel arrangement of the imaging elements to increase the amount of
light captured and thereby improve low-light performance.
• Gorrilla Glass - Gorilla Glass is a brand of specialized toughened glass developed and manufactured by
Corning, now in its fourth generation, designed to be thin, light and damage-resistant.
• HD Display - HD (High Definition) display. HD refers to a level of detail on screen that provides more fluid
video and more vibrant colors. Technically, HD is defined by the number of pixels on the screen.
to be continued…
• Mbps - A MBps and MB/s refer to megabytes per second which are units of data transfer speed. Data transfer
speeds measure how quickly data can be moved between different locations. Megabytes per second are often
confused with megabits per second which are abbreviated by Mb/s or Mbps, the lower case b stands for bit.
• mAh - An ampere-hour or amp-hour (SI symbol A•h or A h; also denoted Ah) is a unit of electric charge, equal to
the charge transferred by a steady current of one ampere flowing for one hour, or 3600 coulombs. The commonly
seen milliampere-hour (mA•h or mAh) is one-thousandth of an ampere-hour (3.6 coulombs).
• LiPo battery - LiPo battery or Lithum-Polymer - A lithium polymer battery, or more correctly lithium-ion polymer
battery (abbreviated variously as LiPo, LIP, Li-poly and others), is a rechargeable battery of lithium-ion technology
in a pouch format. Unlike cylindrical and prismatic cells, LiPos come in a soft package or pouch, which makes them
lighter but also less rigid
• USB connectivity - USB, short for Universal Serial Bus, is an industry standard designed to standardize the
connection of computer peripherals (including keyboards, pointing devices, digital cameras, printers, portable
media players, disk drives and network adapters) to personal computers, both to communicate and to supply
electric power. It has become commonplace on other devices, such as smartphones, PDAs and video game
consoles USB has effectively replaced a variety of earlier interfaces, such as serial and parallel ports, as well as
separate power chargers for portable devices.
• microSD is a type of removable flash memory card used for storing information. SD is an abbreviation of Secure
Digital. The cards are used in mobile phones.
• Micro SIM - The micro-SIM is a smaller version of standard SIM. It is about half the size of the standard SIM.
