My name is Ramesh Parkhi. I am a mechanical engineer having more than 52 years of
experience in Engineering industry. I have worked as Head Quality for all the manufacturing
units of Tata Motors, Pune. These units included all the units of Auto Manufacturing (Engines,
Transmission, Front and Rear Axles, Steering, Body Shop, Press Shop, Chassis Assembly Line
etc), Production Engineering, Foundry Division, Engineering Research Centre etc.
I have been a key member of reengineering for Manufacturing, New Product Development
(R.and D.) and Quality Assurance executed by Accenture.
After my retirement I worked as Consultant for Mahindra and Mahindra (F.E.S.) for three years
and three years as a consultant to Management team of Kirlokar Brothers for three years.Also I
worked as aConsultant Quality and Reliability for a high-tach company BloomEnergy,
Sunnyvale, U.S.A. for about a year. Bloomenergy is in business of development and
manufacturing of Fuel Cells for Power Generation. Along with these major assignments, I have
been giving consultancy to many auto-ancillaries.
I have passion for engineering especially for quality, reliability, failure and warranty analysis. I
shall be very few in industry to have such good knowledge (theoretical as wll as practical) in
some critical areas like World Class Quality, World Class Reliability, Warranty Management,
Accelerated Testing, Design of Experiments (both classical and Shainin). I am sure a company
using my knowledge and expertise can reduce New Product Development time at least by 30%.
My book titled “Market Leadership By Quality and Reliability- Aguide for New Product
Development, Total Product Quality, Reliability, Accelerated Life Testing, MEOST, Failure and
Warranty Analysis.”. The first ribbon for the book was cut by Mr. Ratan Tata. It is well
appreciated by personalities like Mr. Anand Mahindra, Mr. Arun Maira, Mr. Ravikant, Mr. Ven
Shrinivasan, Mr. T.K.Balaji and other. I am wring two books presently viz.
