ABSTRACT
To fulfil the power demands ofthe country, it is required to set up new project,
time to time so that demand and generation gap may be narrowed but most
important is to full utilization of existing capacity .This may be possible only
by increasing the reliability, availability, maintainability of power generation
units and by operating the units at its full capacity.
In Kahalgaon Super Thermal Power Plant varios equipment are installed like
three type of turbine (HPT, IPT, LPT), Turbogenerator, Main Exciter,Various
type of transformer and installed switchyard etc. to meet the power demands
of the country, it is required to set up new project, time to time so that demand
and generation gap may be narrowed but most important is to full utilization
of existing capacity .this may be possible only by increasing the reliability,
availability, maintainability of power generation units and by operating the
units at its full capacity.
This vocational training report is concerned with the overall operation of the
plant, water treatment in the plant and thermodynamic cycles used in NTPC,
Kahalgaon, Bihar power station.
This summer training report is concerned with the overall operation of the
plant, water treatment in the plant, Coal handling in the plant, thermodynamic
cycles and Power generation and distribution system in the plant used in Super
Thermal Power Station (NTPC) Kahalgaon (Bihar).
