Existing Product
The connotations of colour: the connotations of
the colour white are light, goodness, innocence,
purity and it also means safety, purity, and
cleanliness. The connotations of the colour red
are love, passion, desire also strength,
leadership, courage, vigor, willpower
the person who has created this poster has place a huge
image of the product in the middle of the page which will
attract the customers eye.
Also they have place the brands logo
to inform the the consumer who its
advertising because if the brands
logo isn’t there they may not believe
it was that brad who made the
advertisement.
Existing Product
The connotations of colours: the
connotations of the colour yellow
sunshine, hope, and happiness, and
optimism, enlightenment, the
connotation of red are love, passion,
desire, heat,
This would appeal to the audience because they have put the slogan for the
product this would allow the audience to have a lot of trust in the poster because
it has legitimate proof on the poster that its what the company is advertising.
Existing Product
The connotation of the colour pink are
sweet, nice, playful this works well with the
picture as we can see the person is enjoying
them self and having fun.
With the poster having the apple
logo the consumers can trust the
advertisement as it was made by
apple and apple are a very reliable
company and they wouldn’t lie to
their consumers.
Existing Product
In this pre 1990 advertisement poster
they have used a very big font size to
capture the consumer as its going to be
the first thing they see.
Also they have placed the product in the middle of the poster so
the consumer knows what its advertising which is good because
if they didn’t have the product on the poster it will confuse the
consumer and they wouldn’t know what is being advertised.
With advertising posters they don’t
just chose a colour at random they
chose a colour which has a similar
meaning to what is being advertised
for example the colour being the
brightest is yellow and yellow
means freshness, happiness,
positivity. This will make the
consumer feel these emotions
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
All the images that have been show they have bright backgrounds which have
a lot of connotations for example the Coca-Cola poster has the red logo and
the connotations of red are strength, power. This shows they haven't just
chosen the colours at random and all the colours which are there all have a
meaning. Also they all have a logo on them to let the consumers know that its
made by that company and not a fake.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on
work?
From the products I found that they don’t just randomly choose a background
colour for no reason they choose a colour to symbolise something and I’m
going to do that. I will also have my logo in the middle so the consumers know
what it is for.

It being dark but then having a fainter lighter colour on it such as the colour blue
but also it cant be too large or too small it has to be just right, between A4 and

What colours look best on a poster? I prefer most of my posters to be very bright
and eye catching because they are more likely to be seen.

Social Status
Working class • The majority off the population are working
class which gives me more consumers,
which means more viewers
Research Evaluation
Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
• Product research allows you to get an idea of what products already exist and you
can take notes of what they have done good on their product this is a form of
secondary market research
– Questionnaires
Questionnaires allow for a more wide response and will give you more information
about what your audience likes and you can easily put all the information together
and make a product out of the information gathered and it’s a form of primary market
research as your getting information which has not been collected
– Interviews
the interviews allowed for what individual people liked which isn’t that helpful as you
have to satisfy more than 1 customer, also they can be very long answers which will involve
a lot of writing/ typing. This is also a form of primary market research getting information
that’s never been collected before.
Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
I got a wide range of answers however some of the answers I received were
irrelevant to the questions I asked, some people that answered the survey
correctly the majority of the people want 50/50 between text and pictures also
for a logo they would like to see a bright eye catching layout and for poster they
would also like to see bright colours and for the podcast they chose to have the
time for 8-10 minutes long and they would like to have lots of sound effects.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
I put my survey on social media this gave me many advantages and disadvantage
one advantage is that I got a lot of responses, however since its on social media it
can viewed by anyone and they could give irrelevant answers which will not help
me which happened.

  • 2. Existing Product The connotations of colour: the connotations of the colour white are light, goodness, innocence, purity and it also means safety, purity, and cleanliness. The connotations of the colour red are love, passion, desire also strength, leadership, courage, vigor, willpower the person who has created this poster has place a huge image of the product in the middle of the page which will attract the customers eye. Also they have place the brands logo to inform the the consumer who its advertising because if the brands logo isn’t there they may not believe it was that brad who made the advertisement.
  • 3. Existing Product The connotations of colours: the connotations of the colour yellow sunshine, hope, and happiness, and optimism, enlightenment, the connotation of red are love, passion, desire, heat, This would appeal to the audience because they have put the slogan for the product this would allow the audience to have a lot of trust in the poster because it has legitimate proof on the poster that its what the company is advertising.
  • 4. Existing Product The connotation of the colour pink are sweet, nice, playful this works well with the picture as we can see the person is enjoying them self and having fun. With the poster having the apple logo the consumers can trust the advertisement as it was made by apple and apple are a very reliable company and they wouldn’t lie to their consumers.
  • 5. Existing Product In this pre 1990 advertisement poster they have used a very big font size to capture the consumer as its going to be the first thing they see. Also they have placed the product in the middle of the poster so the consumer knows what its advertising which is good because if they didn’t have the product on the poster it will confuse the consumer and they wouldn’t know what is being advertised. With advertising posters they don’t just chose a colour at random they chose a colour which has a similar meaning to what is being advertised for example the colour being the brightest is yellow and yellow means freshness, happiness, positivity. This will make the consumer feel these emotions
  • 6. Research Analysis • What common features do the researched products have? All the images that have been show they have bright backgrounds which have a lot of connotations for example the Coca-Cola poster has the red logo and the connotations of red are strength, power. This shows they haven't just chosen the colours at random and all the colours which are there all have a meaning. Also they all have a logo on them to let the consumers know that its made by that company and not a fake. • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? From the products I found that they don’t just randomly choose a background colour for no reason they choose a colour to symbolise something and I’m going to do that. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method – Product Research • Product research allows you to get an idea of what products already exist and you can take notes of what they have done good on their product this is a form of secondary market research – Questionnaires Questionnaires allow for a more wide response and will give you more information about what your audience likes and you can easily put all the information together and make a product out of the information gathered and it’s a form of primary market research as your getting information which has not been collected – Interviews the interviews allowed for what individual people liked which isn’t that helpful as you have to satisfy more than 1 customer, also they can be very long answers which will involve a lot of writing/ typing. This is also a form of primary market research getting information that’s never been collected before.
