Why do we use PowerPoint? 2 | R4D.org Given this, a few guiding principles are important: • “A picture is worth a thousand words” : The advantage of PPT versus word is the visual enhancement - use it! • Every detail that is in a written report does not need to be represented in the slides — However, if you must include a lot of detailed charts, etc. try to annex as much as possible so you can refer to them only if needed …seems like a basic question, but it’s important to keep in mind that for the most part, PPTs are intended to summarize a report or longer written document for presentation or discussion purposes – not replace one
