4. Climate The Tropic of Cancer divides the country of Mexico into tropical and temperate zones. In hurricane season Mexico is in great danger. This is due to its location near the gulf of Mexico. (thus the name, gulf of Mexico). Mexico has a steady climate year round of sun and warm weather, it doesn't get too cold. It has a year round average of 16.0 °C (61 °F) and rain fall of (27.9 in) in a year.

The advantages of learning Spanish is that a lot of other languages are similar, making it easier to learn new languages. Spanish is the language most spoken in Mexico. English is the second most used language. Many others are also spoken, but not as widely used.
7. Food Everybody knows that Mexican food is amazing. Quesadillas, chicken enchiladas, burritos, spices, beans, cheeses, pineapple, vanilla, avocado, sweet potato, and chili peppers. Chocolate originated in Mexico. The Aztecs invented it. Mexican food is also popular along the US border. Nachos are considered from Mexico but they originated from America and rarely eaten in Mexico.
8. Animals Mexico is home to 10-12% of planet Earths animals. Mexico is 1st in amount of reptiles and 2nd in mammals. Mexico has 34 reserve animal habitats. Mexico is home to many animals such as the White Nose Coati (shown above). It closely resembles a Canadian raccoon. Some popular birds are parrots, sea gulls, jays, owls. There are many crocodiles, snakes, and lizards throughout the country.
9. Tourism in Mexico Mexico has has one of the earths largest tourism numbers. Mexico’s beach resorts are a prime tourist destination because of the beautiful beaches and great food. Most tourists come from Canada or the USA. The year around warm climate is also enjoyed by tourists from all over the world. Some of the most popular destinations are Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas.
10. Tourist Warnings In America there have been reports that you should not go to Mexico because of dangerous activities, drug trade, and gang wars. These warnings have been posted in the media and on radios all around the USA. Over 1 million U.S. citizens live in Mexico. Violence has occurred throughout the country and in tourist destinations and has even killed innocent. bystanders. America advises that U.S. citizens in Mexico to stay in your house and get to the U.S. as soon as possible.
11. Spanish Invasion Before Mexican Independence Mexico was under rule of the Spanish. The conquistadors invaded the Aztecs. The Spanish leaders name was Hernan Cortez. This was the most important invasion to colonize the Americas by the Spanish.
12. Immigrations Mexico has the largest number of U.S. citizens. 25% of the people in Mexico are from the U.S. Mexico and the USA have the most frequently crossed border in the world. There are about 270 million crossings per year. About a year ago America and Canada made a new law that if you are Mexican you need a visa to get into United States or Canada. This makes Mexicans have to plan ahead to travel to US and Canada. it is illegal to cross the border.
13. History The Earliest remains in the country of México are parts of stone tools found near fire remains in the valley of México and are almost 20,000 B.C.E years old. Between 1,700 and 300 B.C there have been many types of people in México such as the Olmec, the Teotihuacán, the Maya, the Zapotec, The Toltec, and the Aztec. These people had many structures, they have some of the largest pyramids in the world.
14. Mexican Independence On September 15 1821, independence from the country Spain was wanted by the priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla. He was from a small town called Dolores. He formed a militia. They where captured and they where shot by a firing squad. After he died he was replaced by another priest and his militia took over the important cities of Mexico.
15. Illegal Drugs Drugs are also sold and made in Mexico. They produce opium, crack, poppy, and mostly marijuana. These drugs are usually made in the Sierra Madre mountains. Drugs are commonly sold to the USA and also some countries in South America.
16. Mexican Drug War One of the main problems Mexico is facing right now is the drug war between drug cartels and the Mexican Government. Drug cartels in Mexico control approximately 70% of the foreign narcotics (Drugs) that flow into the United States of America. I think that the Americans share the blame for the drug wars because Americans purchase many of the drugs sold by Mexicans. Americana allows there citizens to carry guns and many are smuggled into Mexico along the USA border and Mexico.
17. Violence Solders stormed a Juarez warehouse finding 2 tons of marijuana. A gang had taken control of Villa Ahemada a desert town where 21 people died. In 2008 6,000 people were slain. This year is(2011) has started even worse.
18. Los Zetas Los Zetas are a group of ex military specialists that specialize in extortion, kidnapping, drug, and trafficking. Currently they are in a war against the other drug cartels in Mexico. Los Zetas are also the most feared cartel in Mexico. The war against the drug cartels and the Zetas has caused the most deaths in Mexico. The way they build their cartel is by recruiting poor and young military boys that want to make some quick money.
19. Army Mexico has the third largest defense budget in Latin America. The Mexican Military has three branches Army, Air Force, and the Mexican Navy. Historically Mexico has been a neutral country other than WW2.
20. The Barbie Edgar Valdez Villareal A.K.A the Barbie. The Barbie was American, he was captured by the Mexican army. He was the leader of Los Negros. The Barbie had his own Army, making it really hard for the Mexican army to capture him. His army filmed torture and decapitation, they filmed over 150 deaths. When The Barbie was captured he was faced with charges for both Mexico and the U.S.A, and he was also put in jail for his whole life.
