require user input. "form-specific default values"
● Add the desired field using the wizard, then
modify the field HTML using the existing hidden
inputs as examples
● Can also be done using workflow, weigh your
options
7. Field types can differ from Salesforce
Capture your data in a manner that is best for you and
your customers. For example...
● Capture a text field as a picklist instead
● Capture a picklist via Radio Button instead
● Modify available picklist values
8. Makes friends with a JavaScript-er
A little JavaScript goes a long way when working with
web forms (and CSS doesn't hurt either).
● Error checking
● Required fields
● Dynamic elements (e.g. click this, that appears)
● Pop-up / hover help text
9. Polish the experience
● Create a proper acknowledgement page
("Return URL")
● Personalize auto-response emails as much as
possible using Auto-Response Rules
● Be smart about your "Default Lead Owner"
● Prevent duplicates with RingLead Unique Web-
to-Lead (Integrates with Eloqua, Marketo, Pardot
and more)
