2002 – Present Senior Associate Commissioner
Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) – Richmond, VA
The CAA is a Division I collegiate athletic conference and is a member of the NCAA. The
association’s members consist of ten major universities from Boston to Charleston, SC.
Member of the Senior Leadership Team of a Division I conference managing a staff of two
Associate Commissioners for Championships.
Responsible for revenue generation in the following areas: event sponsorship, marketing,
print, ticket sales, TV and social media.
Manage sponsorship rights holder and oversee all corporate partner relationships.
Prepare and present annual budgets to Presidents, Athletic Directors and Commissioner.
Oversee twenty two championships with direct responsibility of running the men’s and
women’s golf championships, which includes selecting the site, producing a handbook,
procuring housing for the teams, communication with coaches, student-athletes and golf
course staff and on-site administration of the championship.
Accomplishments
Oversaw, along with the Deputy Commissioner, the moves of the men’s basketball
championship to Charleston, SC (2017-2019) and Baltimore, MD (2014-2016) after being in
Richmond for 24 years. Involved in all facets of contract negotiations, operations, tickets,
marketing, sponsorships, hotels and hospitality.
Created and implemented an extensive sales and marketing plan that increased attendance
by 13% at the men’s basketball championship from 2003 – 2012 in Richmond, VA, where
overall attendance records were broken four consecutive years.
Increased ticket and conference revenue by 58% at the Men’s Basketball Championship from
2006 - 2012. Revenues increased from $600,000 in 2006 to over $1.5 million in 2012.
Successfully renegotiated the Men’s Basketball Championship Contract with the City of
Richmond and several local government agencies for a five year extension (2008-12).
Negotiated multi-year sponsorship deal with Champion Athletic Apparel worth over
$100,000 annually.
Awarded multiple Grant applications resulting in over $160,000 of sponsorship support.
In collaboration with the CAA Presidents and member Athletic Directors, helped to author
the Strategic Plan for the conference’s Olympic Sports programs.
2001 – 2002 Assistant State Manager

Ranked in the top 1% of 2,000 new agents.
Number two revenue producer for the state of Virginia while opening the most new
accounts of any agent in the state.
Supervised and trained over 30 agents across the State.
2000-2001 Assistant Director
University Of Virginia Athletics Foundation – Charlottesville, VA
Successfully secured a $50,000 donation for the Mark Bernardino Scholarship, the largest
ever for the swimming program.
Athletic scholarships increased 20% to $7.5 million from previous year due to cultivation of
new and existing donors.
2. 1994-1999 Director of Marketing

Responsible for the sales and marketing of 23 intercollegiate sports.
Increased revenue by 25% each year through the development and organization of an
extensive sales and marketing plan while also growing attendance at football and men’s
basketball games by 10%.
Renegotiated the Tribe Radio Network contact to become the largest FCS network in
Virginia at the time.

Worked in the front office for three seasons and was promoted each year due to
performance.
Recorded over 500,000 in attendance for a single season (1993) and group ticket sales of over
100,000 (1994), both firsts for the franchise.
