OF
ANIMALS IN HUMAN LIFE
Prepared By Ronnith Nandy
Importance of Animals
Animals are the gift of nature to us.
They are the ones which are closely associated with us in
daily life.
Animals contribute a lot to human lives than even the plants.
It will be tough to imagine like without animals.
Animals are Great Companions
Animals quite often are
kept as companions to ward
off loneliness.
Animals also become
objects of affection for the
owners.
Animals offer us happiness and can be our best friend.
Animals are Perfect Caregivers
Trained dogs perform several
tasks to assist people with
disabilities such as guiding
people who are blind, alerting
people who are deaf, pulling
wheel chairs etc.
Monkeys are incredibly capable of performing a multitude of
simple, everyday tasks for persons who have lost the use of their
own limbs.
Cats are also sometimes trained to signal their deaf owner for
certain sounds.
Animals Work for Humans
Animals like horses, ox, male buffalo, donkeys, etc
are used for transportation. In deserts, camels are
used for transportation.
Donkeys are used to
carry goods. Elephants
are used to shift tree
trunks and stems in the
forest.
Oxen have pulled
ploughs for farming
Animals as source of Livelihood
Farmers raise cattle, lamb, sheep, goats and other
animals simply to make a living by selling milk, meat,
etc.
Fishing, rearing of hens and
pigs in farms also provide
employment for the humans.
Horses serve as means of
livelihood for the poor who use
them to draw carts.
Animals as source of Food
Animals provide milk which is the daily essential in
human lives. Animals that are used to extract milk are
the cows, buffaloes, goat, came and donkey.
Fishes provided nutritious food to our
diet.
Animals like hens, ducks provide eggs
which is a good source of protein.
We consume animal meat in the part of diet like of goats, sheep, camels, buffaloes,
pigs, rabbits and many more
Animals for Sports & Leisure
Animals are used to assist us in different sports like
horses are used for a game of polo. Dogs are used to
hunt pheasants, quail and other birds.
Animals are kept in the
zoo for our fun and
knowledge purposes.
Horses are used for horse
racing activities.
Animals are used in circus to exhibit activities for our
entertainment.
Animals used for Rehabilitation
Dogs are trained to provide
affection and comfort to
people in hospitals,
retirement homes, nursing
home, schools, people with
learning difficulties.
The sick and the elderly
look forward to spending
time with animals.
Animal assisted
therapeutic
approaches are
often used for
healing.
Horses too
often serve
in counseling
Animals used for Safety & Security
Animals like dogs
are quite often
kept to guard the
master and his
house.
Dogs are used to trace objects and
people by using their sense of
smell.
Animals like
monkeys are
trained to ward
of animals near
airports.
Animals are used to
detect silent bombs
buried underground.
Miscellaneous Uses of Animals
Animals are kept for
the sake of organic
manure like dung of
cattle is good for
farms which
imparts fertility to
the soil. Animal hair from
goat and sheep is
used for making
woolen clothing,
shawls and
blankets.
Animals like horse, mice are used
for production of essential
medicines. Snake’s poison is used
in medicine for treatment of
cancer.
Animals are a great
source of leather
which is used for
making foot wear,
belts, wallets bags,
furniture, etc.
Miscellaneous Uses of Animals
Any new medicine
discovered is
evaluated by
experimenting on
animals.
Animals are a great source of
leather which is used for making
foot wear, belts, wallets bags,
furniture, etc.
