7. What’s a Study System?
• A way of organizing your learning based on your
preferred learning styles, personality, study
time, motivation, attitudes, goals, beliefs, etc.
• A way of engaging your brain in a deeper way of
thinking that requires the use of notes, mind
maps, outlines, summaries, and revisions

• Approach: have a positive attitude, avoid
distractions, & make time in your schedule
•Select: choose what materials to review
•Piece together: synthesize & summarize the material
•Reflect: think about the application of what you
learned
•Evaluate: examine your learning in quizzes and
explore ways to improve your weak areas.

M.U.R.D.E.R
• Mood: have the right attitude & study environment
•Understand: mark what you don’t comprehend
•Recall: summarize key information when you finish
studying
•Digest: go back to the material you didn’t
understand, try to understand it and make it easier to
