dribble is very important as you are always one step
ahead of the defense and therefore can dictate where
the play should go.
8. Defensive IQ
Players need to be conﬁdent on the defensive side of
the ball and always try to anticipate where the ball is
going. You also need to know that you have to stay in
your stance as you become quicker defensively.
Knowing how to cut off angles so that your player can’t
get around you is the next step!
9. Hard Work and Repetition
Just because you have achieved your goal of becoming
a better basketball player doesn't mean you do not need
to work hard at maintaining your skill set. Stay in the
gym after practice and ﬁnd pick-up games to continue
mastering your craft.
10. Be Coachable
Players at every level can always learn something new.
Listen to your coach and be willing to try what they are
asking of you, you never know one little suggestion may
take you the next level!
