This a small PPT on Introduction to 5G technology. In this PPT 5g introduced in very briefly. This is related to to 2017 5g according to 3GPP standards.
3. Introduction
5G technology is the next generation of wireless communications. It is introduce since
2011. It is expected to provide Internet connections that are least 40 times faster than 4G
LTE. 5G technology may use a variety of spectrum bands, including millimeter wave
(mmWave) radio spectrum, which can carry very large amounts of data a short distance.
3
It will have also have some more features:
High Speed
High Capacity
More faster & reliable than 4G
It Uses same Electro Magnetic Wave.
Millimetre Wave.
6. The Real 5G
6
5g is divided into three Categories:
Slow Speed
Very large coverage
1) Sub 1 Ghz-Low band Spectrum:
Can penetrate concrete walls
Used in 4g also
7. 2) Sub 6 Ghz-Mid band Spectrum:
7
Faster Speed upto 1Gbps
Shorter range than Sub 1
Largly used.
9. The 5G Technology That Will Make Everything Happen
9
As the 5G technology market comes into focus, we’re seeing a number of technologies emerge as
vital to the 5G experience. These include the aforementioned mmWave technology; small cells;
massive multiple input, multiple output (MIMO); beamforming.
Small cells:
Small cells make use of low-power, short-range wireless transmission systems
(or “base stations”) that cover small geographical areas or small proximity indoor and
outdoor spaces. Small cells have all the same characteristics of the classic base stations
that have been used by telecom companies for years. However, they are uniquely
capable of handling high data rates for mobile broadband and consumers and, for IoT,
high densities of low-speed, low-power devices. This feature makes them perfect for the
5G rollout that promises ultra-high speeds, a million devices per square mile and
latencies in the millisecond. range.
10. Massive MIMO:
5G technology enables base stations to support many more antennas than
4G base stations. With MIMO, both the source (transmitter) and the destination
(receiver) have multiple antennas, thus maximizing efficiency and speed. MIMO also
introduces interference potential, leading to the necessity of beamforming.
Beam-forming:
It is a 5G technology that finds the most efficient data-delivery route to
individual users. Higher-frequency antennas enable the steering of narrower
transmission beams. This user-specific beamforming allows transmissions both
vertically and horizontally. Beam direction can change several times per
millisecond. Beamforming can help massive MIMO arrays make more efficient use
of the spectrum around them.
11. Advantages
Killer speeds: If you are close enough to one of the 5G towers with your 5G phone, you will be
able to download entire episodes of HD programs in a manner of seconds. Buffering when
viewing a video will be a thing of the past.
New technology options: As network speeds have increased, more and more tasks are being
transitioned from the world of computers to the world of smart devices. With the increasing
network speeds, this could open new doors for smart device technology that may not have been
available. We're talking AI, VR and much more.
5G will enhance the mobile network, not only to connect people but also to connect and
control the machines and objects efficiently. It will become the foundation of ultimate VR &
IoT. The IoT enabled objects are also going to use this 5G Technology.
It will make the dream of the self-driven cars, possible.
It will increase the full factory automation by robots.
It will make work very fast i.e. within seconds.

12. Dis-Advantages
Broadcast distance/building penetration: 5G cellular will not travel as far from the tower as 4G.
Also, the millimeter 5G waves will only travel well in the line of sight (a straight line with the
ability to see the tower). Meaning trees, buildings, walls or other obstacles will block, disrupt or
absorb the high-frequency signal. Some have predicted that even rain could potentially be a
problem for 5G connections.
Battery drain/heat: Phones running on 5G will experience a huge battery drain. Better
battery technology will be needed if the object is to run your phone a full day on a single charge
running a 5G connection. Users are also reporting that phones are almost hot to the touch
while running 5G.
Upload speeds: However, the current upload speeds seen by actual 5G users are not as
groundbreaking as the download speeds. Also, the ping speeds seen by users on 5G phones are
currently not in the anticipated low latency of 1ms or less; the actual speeds are being seen in
the 15 ms range.
These millimeter waves cannot travel well through the buildings and obstacles not even
through trees and rains.

Conclusion
5G technology is the upcoming technology and the bandwidth for this is
very high and was having higher data transfer rate. However, now we are
using the 4G technology efficiently but in future we can use the 5G
technology. Many big countries are investing huge amount of money on this
project as it was having high demand in the future. It will altogether
manufacture flexibility, limit, degree, comparability and meeting. Thusly, it
will satisfy the growing solicitations of rising big⁃data, cloud,
machine⁃to⁃machine, and diverse applications.
